We are a family of four with young daughters travelling for a year. We stuck in our mind after a week with Michael, Kavita and their team was how good value and overwhelmingly relaxing experience this was. Kavita and the ladies in the resort adopted our daughters from the first minute, were always stretching their mind and time to make... More

Once we finished the 1 hour boattrip with the wind coming inland and stepped out on the Island (and washed off our salt crust) there was instant relaxation. The bungalows are very roomy and have (for southeastasian standards) gigantic bathrooms with a dividing half-wall between the shower and the rest. The water is very clean (something you will appreciate especially... More

We went to Koh Thmei resort for the same reason like a lot of the other guests - to get away. For us this worked out really well compared with some other reviews. At night we heard nothing but waves and insects (and that was load so you might need earplugs - ironic I know). Food was good and the... More

Paradise is a much over used word, and it is not a word that Michel & Kavita have used to describe Koh Thmei Resort. The bungalows are simple but perfectly OK and are situated right on the beach. The beach itself is made up of 'dirty looking' sand because of its orientation to the prevailing weather and the nature of... More

I was looking for a super mellow, quiet place to catch up on sleep and work on my sunburn, and this place was it. Def the place to go if you want to turn off your brain, listen to the waves and eat a bunch of seafood. Lack of backpackers and sand flies makes this place even better. The food... More

If you are looking for the deserted island, far from backpackers noise and so this is the ideal place. Only 7 bungalows, for 25/night a feeling of isolation will rejoice you ; ok, food is a bit pricier but overall varied and remains good value at approx 60$/couple/day all inclusive. However, my only critics goes to Michael who might be... More

The various bungalows of this basic resort are very nicely situated at the water's edge. Nothing but water, sand and trees all around. You share this little paradise with few other guests and lots of birds, lizards, geckos, the pony and 2 dogs. Kavita and Michael are the perfect hosts and the cooking of Kavita and her crew is very... More

We stayed 5 nights and wished we had stayed 5 months. A real Robinson Crusoe experience. Sublimely relaxing: choose your own beach to swim from with no one in sight; the sound of the sea lapping away at your beach hut door when you wake up and all the quiet and solitude you need as you rock in your hammock... We came here to after having been bitterly disappointed with Koh Rong ( too noisy and full of young backpackers getting trashed). We came on a day when the sea was completely flat- which made the boat journey a real pleasure- saw some dolphin along the way! The beach they are located on isn't quite as beautiful as those on... You can't beat this location! But the accommodation isn't great... Bath towels had brown stains on them and toilet was stained brown inside. Rooms didn't feel clean. Only cold water! (Which is fine if it's hot but not when it's raining and cold!) Food is good but quite pricey and there is no where else to eat and no snacks... More

“Our bungalow was right beside the restaurant, so it was slightly louder at certain points, but never anything too crazy. If you want it to be super quiet, see if you can get one of the bungalows father down the beach”

“Every bungalow faces the sea. If you are looking for real peace and privacy, make sure that no family with small children stays in the bungalow next to you as the bungalows are very close-by.”
