We've just returned from a group ski holiday where we'd booked 4 rooms at this hotel. It was everything we were looking for in a ski lodge. An authentic smell of log fire filled the air and the warmth immediately greeted you as you walked in from the cold. We loved the log-cabin style of the place, which followed through...

Hotel Tanne is a cheap and comfortable hotel located just a few hundred meters from the gondola to the mountain. It takes around 10 minutes to walk to the gondola station with all the nightlife and around 20 minutes to the center of Bansko with all the mehanas (traditional taverns). There is free wi-fi in every room and public areas,...

We moved to hotel Tanne from a very loud party hotel in the near area. And did we do a good job. Hotel Tanne is a small place where you can realy relax. It is near the skii area and it has a very good restaurant next door. The rooms are kept in a typical mountain "village" style. You can...

When I visited I was not sure exactly what to expect. However, by the end of my stay all my expectations were surpassed. The things that stood out for me: 1) the food, both the vegetarians and meat-eaters loved it. I did not expect to find some of the freshest and healthiest food I have ever eaten to be in...

This summer I took my first trip to Bulgaria and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Any apprehensions were quickly alleviated from the moment I began corresponding with Violeta Popova, the hotel manager(ess) at Hotel Tanne. She arranged for my airport transfer (two hours from Sofia) and when I arrived in the middle of the night she was there...

Off season in this ski resort, at a summer workshop with other academic professionals from around the world, I enjoyed every moment and every detail of this hotel's wonderful accommodations, food, staff smiles, and helpfulness. When you order a glass of wine, it gets filled to the top! (in contrast to experience in my home country, USA) This is just...

Together with thirty four other participants of a summer school/retreat of Old Hindi I spent two weeks in Hotel Tanne in Bansko, Bulgaria. The hotel is Bulgarian-German owned with Bulgarian manager and staff. Our group consisted of scholars and students coming from twelve different countries on three continents, each with slightly different food requirements and expectation as far as standards...

I stayed there for ten days as part of a group that more or less filled the hotel and was very pleased by all the arrangements that were made for us. This included transfers to Bansko for people arriving at the Sofia airport at different times and others already at different Sofia hotels. I was anticipating confusion with the group...
