While arriving, the varying scenery and the freshness in the air sized all my senses. Manu National Park outplaced my notions for a jungle experience. Being able to walk along the trails and view birds of all sorts, mammals, insects and reptiles in their wild habitat went beyond my expectations. In addition to comfortable accomodations, the meal service was tasty...

Hi Angel, Thanks for the illustrative description of Tambo Blanquillo - Private Reserve :)! Rufina (our excellent and caring home chef) can't stop talking about how you enjoyed every meal and asked her which every type of local ingrediente was. We remember your artistic works (with wood, plants and any stuff you could find!), you got skill man! We really...

Tambo Blanquillo is optimally positioned to easily access three oxbow lakes (all at different seral stages) a Macaw Colpa (claylick), the great Madre de Dios river, and the largest Amazonian Canopy Tower (in a massive Kapok tree). These attractions are full of wildlife and provide unique opportunities to observe many elusive species at close proximity. The Varzea seasonally flooded forests...

Hi Jeremiah, Thanks for the detailed review! Your summary of the attractions is a reflect of what Tambo Blanquillo - Private Reserve can offer. The Manu National Park is one of the biggest and most biodiverse national parks in the world. There is more exploration to take place over our protected area, and that is the plan in the near...

" Delight itself, however, is a weak term to express the feelings of a naturalist who, for the first time, has wandered by himself in a tropical forest. To a person fond of natural history, such a day as this brings with it a deeper pleasure than he can ever hope to experience again. How great would be the desire...

Stayed 3 nights at TB Lodge in Sept 2016. We stayed in the dorm-style rooms: basic, but clean. Insect nets. Toilet and showers down the hall. No fan or a/c, but was so exhausted each night that I crashed and slept. Food was the best at any jungle lodge on our 3-wk trip...quite tasty! Wifi and battery recharge is available...

Tambo Blanquillo (tambo means ‘resting place,’ blanquillo means ‘little white’) is a lodge that consists of several levels of service & lodging, from tent camping on up to full room and board in private cabins. It is run by a devoted, imaginative, and environmentally conscientious family. The individual cabin in which we stayed is well thought out. Electricity is on...

Hi Yakherd, Thanks for the e-mail and motivating words. I will pass your message to the Tambo Blanquillo team. I just came back from Manu yesterday and Rufina told me you had a really good time. And yes, her cooking is still getting better (we did not know it still had room for improvement!). I had the chance to pass...

I have stayed in this lodge on two separate occasions, and I would not hesitate to go back. It is close to several outstanding wildlife viewing areas, including a clay lick, canopy tower, and shallow lake. This is my favorite place to stay down river from Boca Manu.

We have stayed in the Tambo Blanquillo for two nights during our 8-day Manu trip. It was an amazing experience. Just inside the area of lodges, you could see many birds on the trees. The trails around are interesting for night walks. Macaw Claylick is the best part for us. They have built a very long and stable wooden platform...
