Wij (gezin kids 19 year & 16 year) zijn vanuit Cusco (met gids)hier naar toe gereisd. Het was geweldig. 1e dag is een lange transfer dag. 8 uur ongeveer. Bomen gepland in rainforest. Heerlijk gegeten en mooie verhalen gehoord. Geen luxe, geen warm water, geen electriciteit, maar een pure beleving. Top!!!!!
I stayed at the Albergue Pankotsi in Shipetiari with Senor Gregorio and his family in March 2017. It was an amazing and unforgettable experience! I found this such a unique tour that is not available anywhere else in Cusco. I did masato making, bow and fletcher making, fishing, beading, traditional crafts, and hikes and animal visits. The lodge is very beautiful and the food is amazing. You can eat very well on your stay and it will feel like a 3 or 4 star hotel in the jungle. The cabins are semi-outdoors and you can sleep at night hearing the rain. Great facilities for where they are. I went solo as part of a volunteering trip. The Matsiguenka people really took care of me. I couldn't recommend it more.
My trip started in Cusco first with bus, then with Jeep through amazing landscape deeper into the Manu Nationalpark till the road ends and we were picked up with a boat to get to Shipetiari. The very friendly, lovable and helpful people from the machiguenga community welcomed us in the Pankotsi Albergue with delicious food from their own cultivation and showed us our cozy Lodge with shower, toilet, washbowl and of course mosquito nets. The activities with Jesus as our guide were very interesting! We went fishing, watching animals, playing volley, making Masato (Drink) and walking around exploring the impressive jungle with all the trees, animals, and plants, ..and the knowledge of the people about plants is unbelievable! The food and drinks were always delicious! I can say that I learned a lot about the culture, had a unique experience and great days. Muchas gracias!…
We were 6 people from Germany and we made a one week volunteer in the matshigenka Community. First we arrived and they showed us out house... I was suprised about that luxury cozy house. We had 4 beds with moskito nets and a own outdoor bath with toilet and shower... in the middle of the jungle. We learned how to make chicha, how to hunt with an arrow, fishing, we slept in the hammok in the jungle, we swom in the river, we helped out in the Community, we learned how to spin and make the traditional art, and we teached english. This all and food for only 40 soles a day. We all loved to stay there and we can recommend it, it was the best jungle expierence ever! Thank you
