We spent 2 nights in the Petra Guest House. I would say everything was just about OK —- breakfast was OK; room OK; service OK but nothing stands out, other than the convenience of the location.

we stayed in the guest house for 3 nights in february. we moved from a nearby hotel that was terrible. the reception staff were brilliant, the rooms are good, and the food in the restaurant both breakfast and dinner were very good.

I see you are going the other way, but that should work, too. Flying from Jerusalem/Tel Aviv to Eilat and having a driver pick you up to take you to Petra. If you stay at Petra Guesthouse, you won't need a car while you are there since it is at the entrance to the Petra site. Look on the map and you'll see that many other hotels will require a taxi ride to get to and from.
