Detailed Reviews
Me and two friends visited this hotel on a Saturday night due to an event on in town. The hotel was relatively cheap and easy to access. On arrival, the people seemed happy and the atmosphere was very lively. The room was ok... however the flush was temperamental and the window was smashed. the bed was a small double which for me wasn't a problem! However, there was a large stain on the left side of the sheet, hopefully this wasn't the last visitors left overs... there was a few black marks in the bathtub which I had to question! The window was propped up with a hair dryer extension which I was rather confused about. If you feel the cold, I recommend you not visiting this hotel due to the heating not being on and the room was -10. On a side note, I suggest putting soap in the bathroom as my female friend was rather upset!
Once we arrived back at the hotel (2:30am) the hotel was locked! I tried every door on the property and none would open. I even had to climb onto the roof to try a fire door as it was currently storm Dennis at the time! I had two ladies with me at the time and they were both very cold and was not feeling to good. I had to sit both of them down on the wet floor while calling the hotel several times. Unfortunately, the building was empty. After 1 long hour of trying many doors and even thinking of walking home(Diss) we eventually gained access to the property. After this long hour, both my friends were very tired and getting them both up the tight stairs was challenge.
To conclude, I feel this hotel would suit someone like me, however bring soap. On a serious note, it wasn't too bad, however, 55 pounds for very small room with these issues, seemed rather a lot for a hotel in Dereham. i doubt ill be visiting again, unless i have another drunk and unplanned evening ahead. Ps, please include a bible next time in a draw or something.

+1
We decided to have an evening meal at the beginning of the Norfolk Broads and this place is beautifully located, right next to the water and with lovely views. It's a pub hotel and wasn't busy at all really - though it was a Tuesday evening. Covid measures were in place and couldn't really be faulted. Firstly outside, if you like water and boats, you'll love the seating area. If you like geese and ducks, you'll again love the seating area. The views are only of the water and boat moorings, but just seem brilliant. Now to the food. The staff were very friendly though there was some confusion over who was sitting us where. Drinks and food are ordered at the bar - the staff are locked safely behind protective screens - and delivered to your table. The service was quick and we ordered Steak with chips and vegetables, the chicken tikka curry plate and some chicken fajitas. We sat in the window overlooking the water and it was lovely and bright. The steak was nice and juicy, the fajitas sizzled away on the plate and the chips were just fine. The curry plate was very big but unfortunately not too tasty as a curry. Avoid the onion bhaji! However, the little pot of chutney was just amazing. Just that on the plate and I would have eaten it all and would still have paid full price! The meal with 3 drinks came to just over £40 and there was no room for dessert. Once we finished, we popped outside for a little walk around the village which is also very nice, watched some boats mooring and of course fed the ducks until sunset. I've only recently found out that it is a hotel too so it looks an excellent location for exploring The Broads. Had the curry been better I would have given 5 out of 5, but for everything else, particularly the location, its great and well worth a visit.

Did not think the room was value for money at £100/night it was very small with bad lighting and incredibly hot, when we asked if they could provide a fan we were told to buy our own at the shop over the road.
At breakfast we asked for bacon to go with the scrambled egg on toast we’d ordered. The bacon was not very well cooked and ended up charging us the price of 2 extra breakfasts for a bit of bacon. Food very average.
Pub is fine if you are just looking for a drinking hole but not for me!

Drinks delivered to table and found my glass had lipstick on it. Took back to bar where it was suggested the glass was otherwise clean so would pour contents into another. I objected to this and was given a fresh drink in a new glass but think staff need to rethink their knowledge of covid and infection control re glass washing. Otherwise, customer service was well organised and staff were friendly

Staff loverly, meaning the bar staff and the man who booked us in, he was brilliant and nothing too much trouble.
Food disappointing Sunday lunch compared to 2 previous visits, breakfast cooked choices poor and cleaner hoovered around us , almost expected him to ask us to lift our feet so he could hoover under the table.
Room was not clean in the bathroom and window sills

We stayed here last weekend with my family and also ate here two nights. We enjoyed the location and the atmosphere of the early afternoon with the river and ambience of the garden. The safety and distancing measures are in place and run efficiently by a Manager who was smart and polite. The same manager checked us in to the hotel early Saturday and although we couldn’t go to our room till after 2pm we did the paperwork and parked which saved our time later. The rooms although basic have all the amenities you would expect, expensive but good. We will be back and Thankyou again.

We have been coming to Wroxham for many years for a Mum and Daughter pre-christmas break! This year we decided to stay at the Kings head! We were'nt dissapointed, all the staff were lovely, very helpful, polite and adhering to Covid regulations! 2 staff stood out particularly,1 was (I'm sorry I did'nt get your name) a lovely girl from the bar/restaurant who helped us with the bus timeings even to the point of writing it down for us, which was so helpful, thank you.The other was the domestic lady, not only did she do a great job in servicing our room but supplied us with a bath mat and extra tea bags on my request! Really felt nothing was too much trouble for either of them. Our room was spacious warm and very clean. Yes it's a little tired and dated hey ho! it's not the Ritz but your not paying Ritz prices! It has a great location (even better on a hot sunny day I'm guessing) free parking for residence and it's central for everything! We did'nt eat there on Saturday eve but we did Sunday! Sadly we were too late for the roast dinner, our fault not theirs, but what we had was nice, although my soup was luke warm on arrival, but was rectified as soon as I mentioned it! Breakfast was ok, I had full English on Sunday morning plenty of it but I would have liked better quality sausages (thats just me) and on Monday Mum had poached eggs now to say these were hard is an understatement should have sent them back but we were checking out that morning! At this point I suppose I should mention that I am a Chef so, food for me is paramount and maybe I'm extra fussy! So to sum up our stay had a lovely stay at the Kings head, felt very Covid Safe and will definately return, hopefully in better times! But well done to all the Staff your real troopers. V

Table booked for 18:45hrs for a party of five adults. Drinks order left on the bar for twenty minutes before having to request they were brought to the table. Made our meal choices some twenty minutes after this, having to wait this long to gain the attention of staff. Having placed the order was informed lamb shank unavailable and then a subsequent choice for rump steak had to be changed to a pie with pastry like concrete as I was informed they had no peppercorn sauce left for the steak. - No alternative sauce other than garlic and herb or piri-piri. When the pie did arrive had to wait again for cutlery and condiments by which time things had started to go cold. Also requested chips with the lasagne, but still came with salad which wasn't wanted and the pizza ordered had hardly any topping, being mostly dough and tiny. Would definitely not recommend the service was terrible and the food horrible. Surely the basics such as bringing cutlery and condiments to the table before the food is a given - could do a lot better.

5 friends booked for an evening meal.
Not 1 meal was worth the money paid or up to a standard of any sort of quality.
Was served to us by a member of staff with a mask (due to Covid rules) that was covering her chin and nothing else.
All other staff were wearing masks correctly.
Found Covid restrictions in pub inflexible, despite good reason to move table.
Not a fan of the food in here!

Yes there are. If you don’t get a fan which apparently should be on the rooms, as they get hot, you need to ask while staff on site. Hope that helps.
