We loved this lodge, partly because of its construction and partly because of the food, which was some of the best we tasted during our trip to Kenya. Meals are offered as a menu with choices and are prepared to order. The lodge is small and is the only one on Mount Kenya. Situated at 2500 metres it can get...

Great drive up to lodge. After safari it gives a more relaxed approach to watching amazing wild life. You must have patience but very much worth it, had a good hour watching a small herd of elephants at watering hole. Ranger told us wee one only four or five days old. Look out all views as large troop of colobus...

We stayed at the Lodge for our last night in Kenya, after a very busy week of ministry in Keratina. They purpose to make the lodge quiet so that animals will come to the watering hole right outside. The result is a peaceful retreat, with the excitement of viewing wild animals up close. The lodge style fits well into the...

The lodge has fantastic views of the watering hole and you are guaranteed to see animals up close and personal. We had a little porch right next to the watering hole. The food was EXCELLENT!! The rooms were quite rustic. We had a triple and it was a bit tight. The bathroom was less than average, the shower was awful....

Mt. Lodge.. Was great to be back there after 40 years!!!! I live here but taken all this time to go back.. sad. Wonderful Lodge to take a break when heading to Samburu and Laikipia. Highly recommended is the wonderful walk that one can take with the rangers. Normally at 3p.m. So if you get there before lunch go and...

Ok, first and foremost, this is the ONLY lodge/hotel/inn inside the Mount Kenya National Park and the experience here is just brilliant. The fact that you can't go for any game drives inside Mt. Kenya national park makes it all the more exciting and interesting to just sit at the roof top viewing area for hours and wait for animals...

Paper thin walls, inconsiderate guests and confused staff - leaving was the part of this stay, mid-May 2012. Staff, particularly those in the dinning area, seemed less well trained, becoming more confused and disorganised than in other places we stayed. We had a Genet on the balcony at 4.15am but even this sighting did not make up for the disappointing...

This hotel on Mt. Kenya was a perfect first-stop on our nine day safari tour. The water hole did not disappoint us and brought in elephants, antelope, ring-tailed cats, Egyptian Ducks and more. The hotel’s atmosphere was exactly what was expected of a lodge tucked away in the forest on a mountainside. Exotic, rustic while also being comfortable, clean accompanied...

We arrived at the Serena Mountain Lodge in time for lunch on the first day of our 8 day safari booked through JT Safaris. We had been on a shorter safari arranged by Julius two years ago and we knew he would not have chosen this lodge unless it was an excellent place for us to start our holiday and...

We stayed in this Hotel in July 2011 while on tour with Smartours. We were very happy with the stay there. I'm not too fancy traveler either. Good thing about hotel are: - Food was excellent. - Staff is friendly. - Great location in the mountains so you can watch animals. - All rooms have view. - There are forest...
