The best place for a romantic getaway, staff are excellent in making you feel right at home and waiting on you hand and foot. What a wonderful experience, breakfast by the river was fabulous and very romantic. The Spa was very quaint and relaxing. Thank you Jeremiah for your wonderful service.

Romantic place, ideal for couples for a weekend getaway, close proximity to Magaliesburg centre and restaurants in the area. The hot stone massage was great. Rooms are well spaced apart and people there were friendly

It was terrible, the photos on the website are not the photos of the cottages interior, old and dilapidated! With a lot of road noise, it's situated right next to a busy road! One poor guy acts as the receptionist, Barman and room service all in one, so it could end up quite a wait for any of those services....

In a word......FANTASTIC. The venue itself is magnificent, the rooms exactly as expected and what one would find traveling through France if not even better. Staff absolutely amazing....and then you get SA's glorious weather....you cannot ask for more. Beautiful setting, authentic, brilliant..... We definitely will be back...........regularly

Ignore what you read by people saying there were accommodated above the staff quarters, that the dining area was cold and inhospitable etc, or that the place is cluttered with bits of things around....this place is magical. No you won't get 5 star luxury accommodation with crisp white linen, large spacious rooms or a bathroom fitted with all of the...

I stumbled upon La Provence D'Afrique when searching the internet for a romantic getaway for our 10th wedding anniversary and what a charming and wonderful place it turned out to be! Rustic France, just a short drive from the hustle and bustle of Joburg. We had a wonderful time from arrival to departure. The staff and owner (Marguerite) made us...

Understand what you are purchasing when you book at this establishment - there is a statement which says - not for the modern and finnicky - and that is very true. The service is great, but if you like things a bit modern, and with a dash of luxury, then this is not for you. We could not fault the...

A street café, a glowing fireplace, cobblestones under your feet, Edith Piaf singing in the background. You don't need to go to Paris to experience this. La Provence d'Afrique delivers a French ambience a mere hour out of joburg. We stayed in a quaint little cottage straight out of the French countryside. All the furniture is antique, a beautiful brass...

Was a lovely long weekend, suites are lovely, La Passione - great fireplace! Hosts went out of their way to make you feel at home. Bonus was the awesome yoga studio and class with Karl. Breakfast served by the river were good. Venue does need a upgrade, some areas are looking tacky, but the experience, none the less was excellent.
