Sunday market excellent. However service in normal pub very very slow. Not sure of bottleneck; probably lack of authorised staff behind the bar on an afternoon when lots of extra people because of their market also taking place.

Good solid food and service, but for me it is the quality of the entertainment that stands out. If you enjoy live music then this is your place. This last week alone included Mark Beling, Summit, Jasper Dan and Rubber DUC....among others. Wow!

This restaurant is fine for average food and fair service. If you want good food go somewhere else. But there is something to be said for sitting next to the lake watching the ducks swim and the odd fish surface that make Rusty Hook a come back place for the average faire.

Rusty hook offers drinks at a great price and the food is not bad at all. It has a nice view of a large pond with ducks that come close wanting some bread. A Friday night gets quite packed and the party goes on till late. It's worth a visit.

We thought we'd try a new place and went to Rusty Hook to see how it is. It was late afternoon on a Saturday and there were no available tables outside so we sat inside. The music was super loud and we battled to hear one another talk. We left after one drink.

Great rustic pub food and drinks with friends. A bit noisy with friendly happy sounds with a good vibe. Food was nothing special but good home fare and enjoyable. Good friendly staff and professional service. Recommended.

We went to Rusty Hook for the first time tonight just to try something new for a change. We were really pleasantly surprised! The food and service was good. Great band playing. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will go back for more Friday night fun at this watering hole.

4 of us for Sunday lunch. First choice of wine was "out of stock". We then ordered 4 x starters (from the starter section of the menu), 2 x prawns and 2 x steaks (from the mains section of the menu). After 45 minutes the steak arrived - when we asked where the starters were we were told "we didn't...

I have stayed at the Rusty Hook for many a nights as my business set up was near Randburg. Its a good decent bed and breakfast with air conditioning at a reasonable price (90 dollars). Rooms are small but were adequate for me being a solo traveller. Until and unless you have work in Randburg, you can avoid this place...
