I was going to stay somewhere else that was in such a rough area (brown sugar back packers!) I relocated to Sleek last minute. It was ok. I could access a kettle, and had a decent hot shower. It was a bit odd, felt like being in someone's house, but maybe I am just too old for back packers now!...

Staff were friendly and helpful throughout stay and the hostel itself is generally clean, access to internet (via computer). Stayed in a dorm room which was nice and even though on front of property was not noisy. Safe location, Most attractions are in the South side and the taxi costs a fair chunk to get down their if you haven't...

It seemed like there were 5-6 people living in this hostel, and we felt a little like we were intruding someone's home. That said, they were all really friendly. We had to leave early due to a safari and were promised breakfast even though we left before it officially started. That did not happen. We also arranged transport through the...

I had such a great time at Sleek Backpack! Looking for a good and cool location for trips to JHB and its surroundings and to think about the things we got to see before we came it was just the perfect place for us. I stayed there this weekend and had an overall good experience. There is a bit of confusion depending on if you think you are staying at the Sleek Backpackers or Accoustix, they are one in the same place, however the outside of the hostel makes no mention of Accoustix, so be forwarned. The staff at the front desk are super...

As a last minute booking for a particularly busy pre Xmas shopping week in Joburg I was pleased to get a room and pleased with the efficient and quick service I received by email. I booked a single room for 5 nights. I was met on time at the airport and taken to the hostel, I had business to attend...
