I stayed in Trekkers' Tavern with a friend while visiting friends in Ruhija. As it was low season my friend and I were the only two guests there. I loved the homely, immaculate room, the dining room with breathtaking views over the forest and into the mountains and the big cosy fireplace. From the moment I arrived the staff and...

Wes at Trekker's Tavern was so welcoming. The service provided was top notch. They prepared delicious 3 course dinners that were served with style. While we were eating they would put hot water bottles in our beds. What a treat, as it does get pretty cold at night here. At a place that is deep in the mountains, the service...

This place is not polished, but it is very serviceable and pleasant. The staff members are wonderful. The meals that we had were very good. The common area is simple, but adequate with a nice big fireplace that is very welcome in the late afternoon since it is located at about 8000 feet. The units are individual cabins that are...

I was in trekkers tavern for two nights when i was in Bwindi for Gorilla tracking. The place is very good, very quite and just next to the Park in the side of Ruhinsha where i trekked the Gorillas, their food was very nice and delicious.

Fantastic accommodation for gorilla trekking at Bwindi. Lots of nice touches like hot water bottle in bed (it's cold at night), juice on arrival etc... The view is beautiful. Food was excellent, and Wence was so polite, attentive and made our whole stay enjoyable. We went on the communal walk which is in the same village (Ruhija), I strongly recommend...

I am rating this a 5 relative to other accommodation in Uganda, and I am considering the cost. This is the best food I've had in Uganda. Bennet was the most attentive server I've had here and rivals servers in America. The rooms were dark, a bit cold, but comfy, and they put hot water bottles in your bed at...

The rooms are dark and damp with tiny terraces, which have a view only into the surrounding trees and on debris of ongoing construction work. The furniture on the terraces was partly broken. The dining area seems to be an unfinished shack, wrapped in tarpaulin allowing no views of the surrounding (beautiful) landscape. When it rains the dining area and...

Stayed here the night before going on gorilla trek. The rooms are very quaint, comfortable beds, ensuite, hot water.... everything I needed to get a good nights rest.Wonderful views! Dinner and breakfast were delicious! My absolute favourite was returning to my bed to find a hot water bottle warming the bed. Definitely recommend!

During dinner when it was chilly, they put a bucket of hot coals at your feet. When you get into bed, you find a hot water bottle in the bed warming it for you. These small details make a huge difference. Stayed at Trekkers Tavern for 2 nights at the end of the low season in May and was the...

Stayed one night at Trekker’s Tavern since it was the best accommodation for our next day gorilla tracking. The cottage was comfortable (though somewhat dark - dark walls and a single light bulb to light up the entire room). The bathroom was of good standard. The staff was very friendly, the waitress was very sweet and attentive and the food...
