This was the fifth and final Sanctuary camp that which we stayed during our nearly three week tour of Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. I'd love to say that Sanctuary saved the best for last...but the fact is every single camp was beyond excellent and this camp was certainly no exception. The location of this camp is ideal, situated on the...

SGFC was our fifth and final camp of our 18 day African adventure and, like the four other camps before it, this camp was unlike any place we had stayed before. We were picked up by Rogers at the Kahihi airstrip, about 1 hour and 15 minutes from the camp. His smile is infectious and his love, passion and pride...

I spent 3 nights at this beautiful, private, in park retreat. The attention to detail and care from the moment I was picked up at Kahihi airport until I was returned was exceptional. The individual tent was spacious and comfortable, the meals and drinks were delicious, and the arrangements for gorilla trekking as well as community visits was tailored to...

We were picked up at Myeya Lodge by the Camps driver Moses who throughout our trips with him over the next few days was excellent and could not do enough for us. The trip from Myeya to Bwindi took over 4 hours and was basically a 4 hour game trip with an incredible sighting of tree climbing lions at ishasha...

I agree with all 200+ other excellent reviews so I'm not going to repeat what they say. I just want to add that I thought it was a really nice touch there was a hair dryer in the bathroom. It runs by generator which you need to ask them to turn on, but they do it readily and quickly and...

This is not your luxury safari camp but it's excellent for the location. Usual format Checkin: Done after the scenic transfer from the airstrip Open your eyes on the way in and absorb what is truly a special location. THE pearl of Africa at its best and a country trying to make for change. Be prepared the walk up the...

We spent 2 nights in this wonderful lodge and liked it a lot a lot. We loved the tranquility and the superb views of the Bwindi Forrest from the common area. The secluded, very tasteful decorated, cabins have very comfortable beds (with a hot water bottle on request) and a beautiful big bathroom. Staff is very attentive and helpful. Food...

We traveled here for two days of Gorilla trekking. This is the finest lodging available in the area. The nicest people on staff. Had nice meals(they packed our trek meals, which were so large we were able to share with our porters), excellent massages and a lovely room. Uganda is lightyears behind in tourism in Africa. The rooms do not...

Stayed here for 2 nights while gorilla trekking in Bwindi. Beautiful room and grounds with amazing staff. Nothing is too much trouble and staff will go out of their way to treat you like VIP. The lunch boxes were not very good and is something that needs to be improved. Have a massage! The therapist was fantastic and after our...

We stayed for two nights for gorilla tracking - Two nights is quite enough though some people recommend three. We stayed in a room very close to the main building, so handy for taking electrical stuff to be charged. Patience serves the unlimited free house cocktails then gives an excellent ($60) massage in a well equipped massage block. Food was...

As the only concessionaire luxury camp within Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp is the perfect base from which to track the park's most famous resident - the mountain gorilla. The main area features a comfortable lounge and bar area as well as the main dining area while the mini spa offers a wide selection of treatments. Located within the National Park, Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp offers guests an unrivalled location, including the best bird and wildlife viewing in the Bwindi area. In fact Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp often receives regular visits from the gorillas themselves. For the lucky guests in camp at those times, they may have the chance for a gorilla encounter without even leaving Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp. The eight tents at Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp are stylish and spacious, each featuring two queen sized beds. In addition to the comfortable warm beds, each tent has a huge bathtub that looks straight into the jungle canopy ideal for soaking tired muscles after a day spent observing and meeting gorillas.
