I arrived in Hampi on the Paoulo nightbus at 4am. I asked the tuck-tuck driver to take me to Kiran Guest House, as its recommended in the Rough Guide as a good place for backpackers accommodation, and although its not the fanciest looking house it is in a good central position. I was met first by the old guy who...

The view from the balcony is lovely. River, palm trees. The rooms are fairly clean. Could really use a new coat of paint. The people who I assumed were the owners were very pleasant and helpful. But the dogs! The dogs howled and barked and yelped half the night. It seemed overpriced, but then I guess it was high season.

Arrived hours early in the middle of the night but were very accommodating and got our room ready within half an hour. The room was pleasant and basic and had WiFi. The guesthouse is in the middle of the bazaar and had an auto driver who was very friendly and took us anywhere we needed to go. The family were...

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 2 nights in January. We arrived by night bus from Goa, and met my loads of auto drivers coming off the bus. We accepting one guy who offered to whiz us to a few places to stay within our price range (max £10 per night). After visiting 3 places to get a general...

My friend and I stayed 2 nights at the guesthouse, room number 1. The family was nice as well as the location near the river but The room was small and we have been beaten by stink buds. Considering the asked price I do not recommend.

Dirty rooms and unfriendly hosts! The owners are so cheap that they turn off electricity while you are not in the room, which makes recharging electrical devices impossible. They are even "cheating on you" by secretly adding an extra charge to train and bus tickets. Check-out time is at 9 am. If you haven't left the room by then, they...

I stayed in the Kiran guesthouse for two weeks and had a very nice stay. It's in a quiet location facing the river in Hampi. There's a very pleasant terrace with a view of the river. The location is quiet; you can hear birds singing. The terrace is great for relaxing and reading or watching the monkey troop that lives...

A budget Guesthouse with small rooms. It seems that toilets, tiles and shower were not properly cleaned for years (and are badly maintained). Family is nice, but soon you'll discover that they're mostly after your money, and that being honest is not always their moto. The only reason to come here is the view from the shared balcony - yet...
