Had to choose a unique place for lunch with family of kids & we took our chances with Lake View Ashoka! It was a different experience dining in a train coach simulation... loved the decor & ambience. Food was delicious except that there was a fly in my soup. However I found it beforehand and they offered to replace immediately. Would not mind visiting again.
Very NIce Hotel - Food is Excellent but a bit costly. The rooms are decent and spacious. The internet connection is weak and needs to be improved. The staff behaviour is extremely satisfactory. Overall a very nice and pleasant stay.
We stayed for 2 nights in this hotel in Nov 2021 during our MP tour, All staff was very cooperative, courteous & cheerful. Check in smooth. Breakfast was good. Due to short stay we couldn't enjoy other facilities. Hotel has lift. Few special things in hotel 1 Drive in theatre - daily 3 shows from 6PM onwards ,Charges Rs 500 for 2 2 Rooftop restaurant on 5th floor having lake views 3 Probably only restaurant in a broad gauge railway coach named BHOPAL EXPRESS , during dining giving a real experience of railway. Nice ambiance ,charges reasonable. Suggestion Needs improvement in house keeping particularly in bathrooms, For taking bath ,there is small height stool ,on which difficult to sit & stand for senior citizens, there should be a handle in wall for senior citizens to take support. Restaurant should increase number of items overall fully satisfied, homely stay, peaceful sleep…
Lovely place. Beautifully maintained. Ideally located next to the CM residence so best area of Bhopal. Very sweet staff and they go out of the way to help. Mr Khushwaha from reception went out of his way to make our stay comfortable.
Worth visiting. It's a good hotel. Good venue for Birthday, Wedding celebration and Conference etc. Nice food. Delicious and Continental Food is available. There is a nice Lake view from the dining hall. A good parking space is available.
We stayed at this hotel while attending a wedding. Our room was a king suite and had a beautiful view of the Lake. The view was probably the highlight. The rooms need to have a thorough cleaning and some updating. Front desk was always prompt with requests, but the men who come to your room are obnoxious. Be ready with a tip in hand or you cannot get them out of your room. This hotel hosts a lot of parties, wedding, and other events which means it is not quiet. Loud music kept us awake long into the night and then woke us up again around 5:00 in the morning. Also, even though this should be a no-brainer, NEVER leave any valuables in your room. My friend was cleaning out her purse and accidentally left her wallet on the bed. When we returned to the hotel 20 minutes later to get it, it was nowhere to be seen. Housekeeping had been there to clean the room while we were gone. We went to the front desk to report the wallet missing and said we wanted to speak to the staff that cleaned the room. Quick denials were made and we were sent on our way. While sitting on the front steps making phone calls to credit card companies, the hotel manager ran out the front door with the wallet. He claimed it was found on the restaurant floor which was a blatant lie. I will not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again.…
We were part of a wedding party that stayed at the Lake View Ashok and loved every minute of it. The most spectacular thing about this hotel is that every room overlooks an amazing lake view that is serene and relaxing. The rooms are in need of a little maintenance but everything functions fine. Room service and the compliemntary breakfast spread is more than adequate. We moved here from another MP Tourism hotel (the Palash) and the difference is significant and worth the premium, in my opinion. Highly recommended for families and even for business travellers.
Good location with lake view, the facility needs much renovation, breakfast was good with some local option, seven star facility with 2 star service and maintenance. May be due to it is run by government, occupancy was good
Housekeeping needs to improve a lot. Musty smell in the room -- may be because of very heavy rains during this Aug. The ACs had red light on ( filter cleaning required). Reception guy changed the room promptly but the second room had similar issues. Not long ago Lake View Ashok ( under ITDC Mgt) was much better than Hotel Palash. Probably after being taken over by MPTDC it has been neglected and Hotel Palash given the priority. Sad as the view of the lake from Ashok is fantastic and very soothing. Management needs to work hard to get it back to its past standing at least, if not improve.
The hotel like most of the tourism department properties occupies a prime location near the lake. Lake is visible from all the rooms all balconies attached. In the day time, the lake and birds are worth watching. At night the scenery transforms into series of lights some close some far off, coming from various buildings and cars around the lake-it has beauty and charm of its own. The hotel needs refurbishment. Staff is helpful.
