The room was enormous and comfortable -- on the third floor with vaulted ceiling. Breakfast was fine, and the pool was most welcome. It's out in the country, a 15 minute drive from town. Martine is a gracious hostess. Our only problem was the heat. 96 Fahrenheit in the day, and no AC. If not for the fan, we would... More

Martine has a lovely home which she happily shares with her guests - the bedrooms are very spacious and well appointed and the garden large with the benefit of the swimming pool. This is a great place to relax. My wife, our neighbours and I spent two nights at Le Clos and enjoyed Martines company during dinner and breakfast -... More

We spent 2 nights at Clos de Ligre and loved it. Martine was welcoming and very helpful. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, very clean and well equipped with tea/coffee etc. We also had dinner both nights - and were treated to two delicious, well planned meals - cooked and served by Martine, one in the comfortable dining room and the... Le Clos de Ligre is an excellent choice. First of all your hostess Martine is lovely, so helpful. Breakfast and dinner chez chlos - well put it this way, she's an excellent chef. Le clos is such an interesting building and so very comfortable. Martine has a real eye for interiors and exteriors. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and... More

Our hostess, Martine, is welcoming, gracious and personable. She is also very knowledgeable about the area. Our room was spacious and lovely. If Martine cooks dinner for you, it will be one of the highlights of your trip. She prepared two exceptional evening meals for us made with fresh ingredients from her garden. We also enjoyed wonderful dinner conversation with... More

Our stay with Martine for 3 days was an absolute delight! From her helpful tips on nearby attractions, the abundant breakfast to the great ambiance of this tastefully decorated house. We stayed on the top floor with visible beams, bathtub on a platform in the room and a great view to the countryside. The clean and cool pool is chlorine-free... More

We spent a great week here in July 2015. The property was very well appointed, comfortable and rooms spacious. Outside the courtyard was private and peaceful with barbecue and good chairs and tables. The swimming pool was nice. Cool parking for the car. Martine was a great host and organised delivery of fresh bread in the mornings. Lots to do... More

We were looking for a spot in the Loire Valley where we could visit the main tourist sites, chateaux and wineries. Le Clos de Ligre was perfect. The property is an old manor house, very well renovated and decorated, and a fine breakfast buffet was served. One evening we did not want to go out, so the charming host, Martine,... More

This is a property trading on former glories. It has the rustic charm sure enough and the rooms are interestingly decorated but it really does stop there. We paid 155 Euros for a one night stay for 2 adults and 2 children. For that we received an unexceptional welcome from the owner who didn't take any time to explain anything... More
