Imagine staying in a Castillo! Excellent service, and some of the most enjoyable food we've had at a Parador. It's fun to walk around the Castillo - The rooms are somewhat small (we opted for a standard) but next time, we'll reserve the junior suite!

It was fantastic place to visit - we loved the Medieval festival which, by chance, was in full swing when we arrived. The boys found lots of cool shops selling crossbows, axes, spears, bow and arrows and the amour of knights. Dressed as knights and with the swords, shields and cross-bow, the boys battled in the village square/circle with other brave boys. The castle is beautifully renovated and it is easy to imagine life there hundreds of years ago. Something we found fascinating were the family crests above the doors of the old village houses. We invested their meanings and created our own family crests.

There is no on-site car parking at the hotel which means you have to leave your car complete with possessions (when travelling) on a public car park. The room I was given (112) was more like a tomb as there was no view whatsoever & the aircon did not work efficiently. I would advise all guests to check their room first before paying a lot of money for a poor experience, quite honestly I expected and have experienced much better quality at Paradors so probably a one off at this one.

The least good parador we have already visited. A bit of a tourist trap. It was 30° and the air conditioning was not working. We wanted to eat partridge, but there was none.So we ordered the only posible menu. The stew of beans, pig ear and lamb was delicious at 30° and without air conditioning. This parador has no parking. It was not easy to find parking space during the weekend.

The hotel to stay in town. Locate in the old castle, rooms are quite large, so is the bathroom. The minus is the sound insulation, it is not bad, but you can hear noises thru the door. Short walk to the restaurants. Breakfast is ok, service is good.
