Walltown Lodge re-opened under new ownership in July 2016 following major refurbishment and redecoration after not trading for several years. The property has been sympathetically refurbished and enjoys a cosy country cottage style with flagstone floors, vintage furniture and chunky throws alongside all mod cons such as USB sockets and flatscreen freeview televisions in all rooms.

Spent the night at this beautiful bb with friends last night, fantastic location. Beautiful views. The owners are very welcoming, lovely couple. The room I stayed in was beautiful, lovely warm decor. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, didn't want to get up. The owners couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was beautiful, lots of choice and you certainly won't go hungry. Beautiful bb! Will definately return in the future and highly recommend. Worth every penny and more!

What a wonderful find this place was with such welcoming and friendly hosts. Great location for walkers, being located right beside Hadrians wall. Ali welcomed us with a cup of tea and delicious home made cake into a beautifully clean, comfortable and well resourced room. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Sorry just had to mention the Banana cake folks!
Highly recommended and I would definitely stay there again.

My wife and I really enjoyed our 1-night stay at this excellent place. We enjoyed chatting to James & Alison who were very hospitable. The bedroom was lovely and the homemade flapjacks in our room was a that little something extra special. Beautiful breakfast and great location. I'm sure we will be back. This is a great b&b!

Dear Phil, Thanks so much for this great review of our little B&B. As you probably realised when chatting to us, this is more a labour of love than a business venture for us, our priority being that our guests enjoy their stay here and feel looked after. We're so pleased that we've achieved that. We hope you enjoyed the rest of the things you had lined up and hopefully we will see you again so you can tell us all about it! Very best wishes, Alison & James

Apart from the surrounding area being amazing. Ali and James are very welcoming. The room we stayed in was immaculate and very comfortable with some very thought out little extras. Breakfast was fab. Highly recommended this exceptional BnB. We will definitely be back.

Great stay in a fantastic location for walking; visiting the many local attractions (the Roman Musium is just over the road). It is located in close proximatey to great towns and villages full of historical charm.

The accommodation was perfect for a base, but would also recommend just for a one night stay.. Whoooooo what a brilliant breakfast....

A comfortable spacious ensuite bedroom recently redecorated with quality rustic furnishings in keeping with its rural surroundings while offering all the mod cons and special little touches. A sumptuous and hearty breakfast with excellent coffee! I highly recommend staying here when walking or exploring the historical Hadrians Wall. Certainly a home away from home with friendly and knowledgable hosts.

Dear Robyn, Thank you so much for your lovely review of our little B&B. We're pleased that you appreciated the little touches we offer as well as the decoration and furnishings. Me and my boyfriend came here for the weekend for a little get away from the hustle and bustle of life and my God did it! The views were superb from both the room and the breakfast table! The rooms were gorgeously decorated and very clean! Breakfast was very hearty and there was more than enough to see us through the days adventures exploring Northumberland! James and Alison were very welcoming and ensured we felt right at home from check in to check out, what a great couple of hosts!
We will be back!

After a day walking Hadrian's Wall it was great to rest only a few footsteps from the national trail. A warm welcome was received and the room comfortable with plenty of space.

The village and pub (excellent food) are a few minutes walk away down the hill. Breakfast was good with some nice cereals and cooked breakfast options.

Very pleased to stay and will be back if I'm in the area again.

A friend and I stayed for one night while walking Hadrian's wall. We were both taken aback by the hospitality and genuine friendliness of our host.
Well located for walking the wall and right opposite the museum which is well worth a look. The room was large, bright and airy, immaculately clean and with everything we needed. A very pleasant stay.
We felt we were invited into the home of a very caring person.

This was the most convenient, and the overall best accommodation we had on our recent hike along Hadrian's Wall. The room was bright and cheerful, with an en-suite shower and toilet. Breakfast was great, served up to order. No need to lift backpacks or suitcases up stairs -- this place is on one level. There's a nice residents' lounge with pamphlets and information about the area. For dinner, we walked into Greenhead, about 1/2 a mile on a sidewalk. The barman called the B&B owner when we were finished, and she picked us up within 10 minutes. There's a place outside to clean boots. At breakfast, we watched a variety of birds attack a feeder. Best thing, however, is that this B&B is right across the street from the Roman Army Museum, a great presentation. And the Hadrian's Wall Country Bus stops near the front door of this B&B. Only issue was that the in-room TV was a bit difficult to operate. Will definitely return to this place.
