I'll start with this: if you're looking for a pristine, modern hotel, the Royal is not the right choice for you. Keep in mind that Rabbie Burns stayed here in 1787! It's an old building with worn, creaky stairs and skeleton-key locks on its doors....More
Tired run down bedding clean but the bed was not comfortable. Hot water brown like tea colour very very hot. Shower I would not stand in it with boots on; didn't look inviting.
