Lovely B&B and lovely hosts Very good quality breakfast and great hospitality by Dennis Slighty far from the town of Lochinver but quiet beautiful in its own rugged landscape with lots of sheep farms on the way and not to miss the Achmelvich Beach, Scotland's most beautiful beach

My husband and I stopped off at this B&B for one night whilst doing the North Coast 500 tour of Scotland on our motorbikes. Such a lovely welcome and warm hosts who were so friendly and extremely sociable and happy to chat and spend a bit of time getting to know what we were doing. Very knowledgable on the area...

Time to put the last review to bed! We toured Scotland for two weeks covering 1,450 miles and staying in multiple B&Bs - Dennis and Maggie were by far the best hosts we experienced on our trip. So kind and delightful we could have stayed there for weeks. It was a true pleasure to sit down in the lounge in...

Cold wet day, so phoned ahead to ask if I could arrive at 2pm - no issue. On arrival noticed the hall and bedroom were both very cold indeed, and was informed by Dennis that "no heating would be on until later". I could use the Guest Lounge, which was a little warmer as it had a small fire in...

We spent 2 weeks slowly driving to this part of Scotland and booked in for 3 nights. We found the accommodation so comfortable we stayed for 6 nights. We were made to feel so very welcome and Dennis lit the fire in the sitting room each day if we were back from our walks early we were able to sit...

Stayed here for one night and wish we could have stayed longer. Dennis and Maggie were so welcoming and friendly, the breakfast was delicious and the room fab. The room itself was beautifully decorated, modern with a twist of vintage. It really felt like a home from home.

Dennis and Maggie are fantastic hosts - very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent, and agree that it's worth paying for dinner there in the evening if you can as it's very high quality, well cooked and plentiful! The B&B has everything you need and provides a great base to explore a stunning part of the country. I'd highly...

Staying with Dennis & Maggie at Cruachan is an absolute delight. Excellent hosts with warm and comfortable rooms at very reasonable prices. Evening meals have to be booked but the quality is excellent both in standard and quantity. Situated in the midst of the best scenery in the country you will not find better anywhere.

A top tip for this homely B and B is to eat in. I had a lovely dinner on one of my two nights staying here in August 2013 and you can bring in your own alcohol. It can be very difficult to find eating places during the Summer season in the Lochinver area, but the Cruachan stepped up to...

We spent a miserable night in the lodge's only twin room. Mattresses terrible.Other rooms might be okay but avoid this one at all costs if you want a decent night's sleep. The room itself seemed small and dark for the price. It's only small window looks out on the side of the adjoining house.
