This was our first visit to Arowhon, but will not be our last. Set in the majesty of Algonquin Park a truly memorable experience and a soothing respite from the current situation. The accommodations are rustic, but very comfortable, the staff are excellent, from the wam greeting upon arrival to the excellent dining room servers who, without being asked, noted dining preferences and adjusted plates accordingly. The food is top notch and avoids being overly trendy: prime rib, goose, lamb, fish, all beautifully prepared and presented. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, but bear in mind that it isn’t inexpensive, but you do get what you pay for. TripAdvisor doesn’t allow it, but if it did I would definitely give 4.5 stars to this unique establishment. Looking forward it coming back next year.

Arowhon Pines was a most welcome interlude in the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic. This was the second year we had been there, again right at the end of summer. Before going, we were impressed with their explanation of the precautions they were taking, in the rooms, with dining and with the canoes and equipment. We had the same room we occupied last year, although the cabin was only at half capacity. We enjoyed the same wonderful lakeside view during our stay, which was such a draw for us last year. There was no maid service into the rooms in order to minimize contact - certainly no problem to make our own bed for two nights. As always, the food is one of the great draws of this lodge, and in spite of restrictions the lodge outdid itself. The dining room was modified to have fewer tables. A rustic but effective hand-washing station now greeted us at the door. The large pine table for appetizers and desserts was gone, but instead, dinner began with a selection of Arowhon’s famous appetizers - more and perhaps different ones than I might have selected from the buffet. A highlight for us was two deep-fried smelts with a piquant tomato sauce. At dinner, there was a choice of four main courses, including a fish and a vegetarian dish. The plates are not immense, but filling and imaginatively presented, with as many local products as possible, and there are so many courses! We quickly learned to ask for only a small soup (the creamed squash soup was splendid) and to share desserts. One of the choices was a selection of Arowhon’s famous desserts. What I received was seven small desserts clearly enough for three people! Lunches were described as being simple bistro meals, but there was always a salad - very imaginative salads - a soup, a meat and a vegetarian main course, and dessert. The hiking trails were available for daytime entertainment. The canoes were completely sanitized daily, and there was sanitizer and paper towels available to give them a touch-up before and after one’s outing. We enjoyed two pleasant days of relaxed canoeing on Little Joe Lake and Joe Lake. There’s still time to enjoy autumn in Algonquin Park at an outstanding lodge.

I have had the great privilege of visiting the Pines for years with my family, and it never disappoints. On a recent visit after its reopening, we were impressed and calmed by the precautions put into place as well as the maintenance of so much of what makes Arowhon unique. (We, for example, surprisingly didn't miss the wonderful buffets as they were recreated in creative ways.) If you have the chance to go to Arowhon Pines, take it. You will not regret the restorative, grounding experience.

Had the most amazing 3 night stay at Arowhon Pines. Our recently renovated private cabin overlooked the lake and was beautifully appointed and oh so comfortable. Each of the 3 daily gourmet meals was exquisite and Michelin worthy. Service was great, especially Theresa. We saw a cow and bull moose during our kayak trips and a few loons as well. Nature at its best! Can’t wait to go back!

What an incredible experience! My wife and I and our two kids (ages 7 and 5) had the pleasure of visiting Arowhon Pines this past weekend. The setting is absolutely lovely. The rooms are comfortable and well renovated. The service is professional, personable, and impeccable. The food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) is superb, including the picnic lunch that was packed for us on a full-day outing. My wife and I are both busy professionals, and the fact there is no wifi or cell-service allowed us a much-needed disconnect. For our kids, the small(ish) property allowed for them to run back and forth from the dining room to our hotel room without (helicopter) supervision, which is also great. I strongly recommend this place for adults needing to relax and for families needing time to connect and share experiences in Algonquin Park. Special thanks to the owners and staff for giving us the best trip of our summer. We are already looking forward to next year!
