Fantastic location right on the main square of this quaint city. Staff were friendly and always helpful. Downside is that there are no decent rooms with a private bathroom which is what I had requested. There is only one grubby little room with a private bathroom without a window or any access to natural light. My room was small and...

Beautiful hostel and very good located at the central plaza. Nice view on the top of the cathedral and view over the pigeons. The main con's: plastic and destorted cutelery in the kitchen and lot of noise at night from late guests. Don't take the rooms closest to the entrance.

We had the room with a view, which even at it's most expensive room was very reasonable. We had plenty of space with double bed, table and chairs, wardrobe and bedside tables. Plenty of floor space for back packs etc. The hostel staff were helpful and had lots of useful information. The hostel is not a party hostel and generally...

Located in the very centre of Popayan, this place is the perfect hostel to stay when pop by for three or four days. The staff tells you all about nice trips in the area and a highly recommendable trip to the indigenous people in Silvia! wow! The chillout are is perfect for hanging out, having some backpacker conversations with fellow...

You can not even move in the bed because it will sounds everything and you don't let anyone sleep. The bathrooms are in a really bad condition and they clean it once a day, which means that a mid day they are awful. At least when I was there, the bathrooms where full of cockroaches. The only good thing are...

The location is great, the building it's self is nice (light and cheerful) and the staff are friendly and helpful. However, it has a kind of covered courtyard which seems to let LOTS of pigeons into the building throughout the day and they wander inside all of the rooms! During my stay I was woken up early by a pigeon...

Although you can't beat the location, this more than slightly worn old girl is over run with cockroaches. My room, the most expensive option has a great view over the square and admittedly has the least of the insect problems (personally fumigated it each of 4 nights). In our four nights here we have watched many parties leave in disgust...

Shawn, Im deeply ashamed you had to experience this during your stay with us; during the last couple of weeks due to the recent increased temperatures we noticed the problem and started taking care of it fumigating and spraying the affected area on the back of the building but as it worked on a different ares little we knew this...

Stayed here a few nights and the rooms are lovely and the beds are comfy. The showers were awful when they worked, usually a scalding hot dribble of water which was so hot I could hardly wash. The roof terrace is awesome, there's a great sunny room to hang out in too and lots of plants. Kitchen is spacious but...

Be careful of going to this hostel. They have a bug infestation. Woke up being bitten by bed bugs then went to the kitchen and there were bugs crawling over the walls. Happy it was only one night. The shower provided little pressure and went straight to scolding hot. The Wi-Fi was no bueno tambien. I would not recommend this...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Parklife Hostal is a hostel that has opened its doors in May 2011 in the very center of colonial Popayan, Colombia. Our concept of accommodation is based on comfort, good music and a good service. Park Life is the perfect place to sit around a table with your new found friends and a good cup of Colombian coffee. The comfort and the spaciousness of our common areas turn Parklife into a favorite place for the "adventurers" that decide to come to Colombia. Getting to Park Life hostel is easy, very easy. You only have to ask for the Central Park which in Popayan is called Parque Caldas or the Cathedral. In fact it is a nice 12-15 minutes walk from the bus station. ... more   less
