HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 21 April 2017

This hotel is old but clean. I've stayed here several times and enjoyed each of my stays. Can't say much for the free breakfast. No eggs or meat. Cereal and muffins is not my idea of breakfast. Good wi-fi.

My husband and I spent one night here while road tripping along the northern California coast. The room was basic but clean and comfortable, with Wi-Fi and a half decent breakfast. The area is simply beautiful and the hotel (more like a motel) backs directly onto redwood forest. Great Italian restaurant just up the road too, called Nuestra Casa. And...

My family and I went on a trip to Santa Cruz with a niece, and stayed here overnight from April 7 to April 8, in rooms 206 and 208. I was in room 206 and so my review is based on that room. Any items related to 208 will indicate so. Overall we liked it very much. It's not perfect,...

We stayed here in October last year. We found the room OK with plenty of hot water, however the location is a little out on a limb at the bottom of the mountains in a dark valley which lost the sun early in the day. It's about a 20 to 30 minute drive to Santa Cruz. There were a lack...

An older style motel and will need an upgrade before too long, but we had no issues with that. Friendly manager, room was clean and everything as it should be. Parking was a problem due to the motel being used by construction/maintenance workers with huge trucks, so some noise when they left at six in the morning. Otherwise we had...

The stay was hit with a bad smell the minute I stepped into the reception, no greeting, and a very ignorant and rude employee with ginger hair, seemed put out that he had to check us in. Fridge noisy, breakfast bar consists of a small room with 20 year old chairs that are worn right down through the material. To...

We were going to spend the day hiking about the Redwoods and I decided on this place, simply because it was close. I was surprised to find how nice it was. The wifi was excellent. The room was spacious and clean. The amenities were all fairly new. Breakfast was above usual motel standards. The owners were friendly & helpful. This...

Check in was easy, no issues. The rooms were typical motel, fairly large, with smaller bathrooms. Everything was very clean, no issues there. The smells from the Redwoods which surround the motel are relaxing in itself. The roads going into Ben Lomand twist through the Santa Cruz mountains, so do not try to make it a fast trip from SR17...

We booked this through Choice Hotels. Some reviews a little "iffy". Took a chance and are so glad we did. We had room with king size bed. The room was a nice size, clean to a fault, the bed very comfy with nice crisp sheets. Large quantity of towels. We couldn't have been more pleased. We moved north to base...

Poor quality for the money, but they can charge what they like because of the location! The rooms are basic, but clean at least. It is an old motel that so they regularly have issues with the rooms, but they try to keep them decorated as best as they can. We have stayed here several times because we go to...
