I stayed here basically because it's about half the price of other hotels in the area. It's not fancy; the towels and linen are not changed during your stay. The radiator and refrigerator are loud. But even given all that I would stay here again; it's clean and professional.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is close to the University, a block away from BART, a couple blocks away from Traders Joes, along a stretch of University Avenue that has great eateries (Turkish, Salvadoran, Tibetan) and lots of Tibetan stores. The worst thing is the traffic on University Avenue. We live in a noisy big...

Arrived and had to pay to park in the back lot, but the machines were broken so had to go get quarters from the front desk because the machines would not accept credit cards. Front desk was nice but coffee pot and tea cups were dirty. No outlet in bathroom, no blow dryer, had to ask for a blow dryer...

I stayed for 20 days, since it was the only choice for me, cost-wise, all other hotels had very high rates before UCB class begins. It turned out to be good. The staffs were very kind, helpful, and responsive. The room doesn't have everything but you can always ask them for the missing items. No noise at all during the...

I wanted to find a hotel that was near UC Berkeley to help my daughter move into her housing for her first year at CAL without breaking the bank. This hotel fit the bill perfectly as it was the closest hotel to campus without paying over $200 as other hotels were charging for this great area. That being said, this...

This is an old refurbished hotel in the heart of Berkeley. Do not expect too much luxury and an AC since this is just a basic hotel. So much for the minuses let me talk about its stronger points. First it is clean. Second it is cheap and you have a very comfortable bed with a microwave and fridge in...

Nice, basic hotel room with a king sized bed located in Downtown Berkeley. Internet is complimentary as well as coffee and tea in the room. Was able to store my luggage at the office for a few hours after I checked out to pick up before my flight.

If you like upscale hotels this place is not for you. This is an older remodeled hotel, but I had a large, clean, albeit noisy -- streetside --, room with a bathroom for a great price. It's located a block and a half from BART, 2 blocks from UC Berkeley campus, 3 blocks from Trader Joes, and there is every...

The hotel is in an older building along a main street near the Berkeley campus. The hotel staff was friendly during check in and gave us a free bottle of water. The room and the furniture seemed pretty old and the door knob was broken on my room door (I could only lock the bolt lock). The bathrooms seemed like...

Very clean, without luxury but with good and spacious rooms, located near the University and with easy access to everything: cafes, restaurants, super markets, shopping areas etc. Rooms have a microwave, fridge and electric kettle. The manager, Yvonne, is friendly and practical, giving useful information. For those going to Berkeley in short-term is a good solution. I really liked it.
