Very classy hotel just around the corner from BART station. I was very impressed with the service from the hotel staff- it seemed every staff person I ran into said hello or good morning. Yes, the property is older style hotel which has been re-renovated but pleasantly enhanced for the modern traveler. Being an older style layout, not everything is...

A very nice hotel right in the heart of downtown Berkeley. The only odd thing was a system by which you must put your "key" card into a slot on the wall by the door. This activates the lights in the room, as well as the AC. It was warm when we were there, so the AC thing was awful...

We stayed in Berkeley for a family vacation that really took us to San Francisco as we were trying to avoid $350 to $400 or more per night room rates since we needed two rooms. We picked the Hotel Shattuck Plaza. We also have a son entering his junior year in high school, so being close to the Berkeley campus...

The staff was very helpful and provided extra pillows for my mom. They are only a block away from the excitement of the bay. I recommend it for my friends and it is super close to Starbucks, restaurants and of course lovely Berkeley! Try the hot dog stand close by!

The Shattuck Plaza is an oasis in sea of homeless street kids and panhandlers. Berkeley is an odd mix of the richest, smartest, and most interesting people while simultaneously sustaining a large community of homeless people. The hotel does a very nice job of separating it's guests from the business of Shattuck. The entrance is right around the corner and...

Great hotel, in the heart of Berkeley. Dear slvah2007, Thank you for taking the time to share with us about your experience.
