You are almost guaranteed to spot platypus here if you go out at the right time & keep quiet. This is the 2nd time we have visited & have seen them in both viewing places & also under the bridge. The accomodation is quite rustic but very comfortable & clean & contains all the basics that you would expect. The...

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us and managed to see lots of our wildlife. The possum feeding is always popular - It's why our Restaurant is called "Possums Table"

This place is full of nature and right up close to where the platypus live and play. I stayed in a basic room and it was clean, came with the basics and had a lovely view of the bush. Staff was friendly and helpful, and they drop you off at the best bushwalking start points so you can walk your...

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and our lovely creatures - next time you'll have to try our Restaurant and watch the Possums being fed.

Only stayed 1 night but it was great. The staff could not have been more helpful both at reception and in the restaurant and we both enjoyed our meal. The cabins were clean and tidy with the necessary facilities and given the location it is quiet. The highlight of course was the platypus but the possums outside the restaurant came a...

We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us and our hospitality. Our Nature Guide really enjoys showing people the night time creatures on our Spotlighting Tours as there is usually a good variety.

This resort is in the best location for viewing platypuses, we saw them within an hour of arriving on one of the tours organised by the hotel. The hotel itself is defiantly like speaking a step back in time, everything is very 70s - even the menu at the restaurant. There are also some slightly peculiar rules around when meals...

Thank you for your kind words about our Staff - they are very proud of our resort. I'm sorry you had difficulties with our Restaurant - Our Chef has purposely decided to produce what might be called a "Retro" menu with lots of old favourites as opposed to some of the more trendy menu items. I'm not quite sure what...

Broken River itself is one of those places that helps you stop and take account for your place in time. The variety of the wildlife is truly amazing, in every sense of the word. I enjoyed the accommodation, the setting, the lounge (which had things to keep my young adventurers happy), the pool and the facilities inside the cabin is...

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay with us - I will certainly pass on your comments to our reception staff. They also are very proud of our Resort and the surrounding areas. I'm sorry you found us expensive as we have not increased our Tariff for two years.

It feels like a intimate small scale resort, so I wish I could be more positive for all the people working here, but long story short: the value for money simply isn't there. Clearest example was that during dinner (since there are no other restaurants nearby you sort of have to eat here) the chef forgot my meal while the...

I'm sorry your stay with us was so disappointing . I have discussed your complaint with Chef and he advises he has never microwaved a steak. we do however regularly warm the plates in the microwave. I agree with your comments about spider webs in the lights and ceiling in the Restaurant - this has now been rectified by the...

My husband and I spent a night in Platypus Cottage here and found it pleasant in a well maintained and peaceful bush setting. The unit had everything we needed and was clean and neat with a little verandah to relax on with a drink. The wheelbarrow to carry our gear in was handy and staff were very pleasant. The whole...

Date of Stay 12th to 14th August 2014 We visited as part of our Queensland road trip and had a fabulous stay. The resort is tucked away in the forest, a series of timber buildings sympathetically developed and very low key. The emphasis here is on peace, quiet, relaxation and the local wildlife. We were greeted warmly on arrival and...

We have just had 4 relaxing days at Broken River Resort. What a wonderful place! We stayed in an Echidna Room which had a double and single bed, good cooking facilities - we did our own meals. Saw lots of sightings of the platypus in various locations and at various times on all days. Made use if the free laundering...

We spent 2 nights at the Broken River Mountain Resort in a Platypus studio lodge (the bottom level of accommodation). The accommodation, while satisfactory and in keeping with the...

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us and the bushwalks and platypus watching. We agree the property is old but try and maintain a high degree of cleaning. We are aiming for an Eco-friendly experience and whilst AAA rated at 3 1/2 stars we would like to be able to exceed Guest's expectations at this level.
