The staff was fantastic. Hollis at the front desk went out of his way to see that we were happy. The rooms need serious renovation. The bed was hard, marble desk was dirty. A/C & heater did not work. Great location ! Coffee was great ! Valet attendants were very friendly and prompt. The local fees and taxes and hotel... More

Last minute change, We had reserved the Kimpton Palomar and saw a few days before our arrival that they were renovating. Cancelled, and found the Avalon at a good price with the Cyber Monday Special. It is an old hotel that is all refreshed and very clean. It is still an old hotel with new amenities. It might be pushing... More

We have family in Beverly Hills that we love to visit - we originally chose The Avalon Hotel for it's location - proximity to our family plus walking distance to Beverly Drive, Wilshire Blvd. and Rodeo Drive. After our past two experiences at the Avalon, we would stay there no matter what...This rare boutique hotel is full of Hollywood history... More

Unfortunately, I was disappointed by this hotel. First I need to say: We stayed in the main building. Apparently there are three. I appreciate that they want to keep the 50s-style, but they need to make some serious upgrades. The windows and the heater seemed indeed to be from that era. The heater was old, shabby, loud and took two... More

I absolutely loved the look of the entrance, it was filled with plants. The staff was courteous & always there to assist. I enjoyed my room, the beds were super comfy! However, the restrooms need some maintenance work.

I highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the Beverly Hills/LA area! The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the staff are all extremely helpful and friendly! I was especially impressed with those at the front desk, the valet parking as well as our waiter in the restaurant. They not only did everything we asked for, but went... More

This is a great spot to eat or drink...or stay for the night. The pool area is decked out in full "Mad Men"/MCM glory.... Fun spot for friends to gather for birthdays, etc. Your pics will be pretty, too. I stayed in the hotel for the first time this weekend and it was great. My husband and I love this cute little hotel! The valet staff were so friendly and the front desk knew our names at check in. We loved the pool side dining and relaxing space. The hotel is walking distance to Rodeo drive but quiet in the evenings, which was nice. We will definitely stay here again when visiting !

Staying in Beverly Hills

Neighbourhood Profile
Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
