Used as a base for exploring for a couple of days. Out of the way, authentic but very welcoming & comfortable with excellent locally inspired food, with its own kitchen garden. Very well looked after & thoroughly recommended

Having read many of the reviews, I can only agree that this is a very special place to stay. You are sure to enjoy Olga's hospitality, her wonderful cooking and the peaceful serenity of the posada and village. The rooms are lovely, all is so well taken care of (especially the kitchen garden) and there are plenty of walks in...

We are walking with On Foot Holidays. What a little gem. Large ensuite room, well appointed, real home made food sourced from own kitchen garden, home made yogurt, jams and coulis, efficient, well organised, charming. No shops in the village, very little retail in the valley. Exceptional views from the ridges that surround the valley. Great spot.

We loved this pretty Posada in its village setting. The food, both breakfast and dinner, were beautifully prepared and consisted mostly of local ingredients, many grown in the owner's own vegetable garden. Try the home made cake for breakfast, the homemade jam, the homemade ice-cream for dinner....We could go on! Our room was very comfortable. Olga provides great advice if...

Very charming and cosy posada in beautiful surroundings. Diner and breakfast are homemade (yoghurt, cake...) and delicious with a lot of ingredients from the posadas garden. We enjoyed salad from the garden with herb flowers, a great veggie soup with carrots and orange, a duck from the neighborhood... If you want to enjoy a peaceful place off the beaten track...

We spent 6 wonderful days here, exploring the North corner of Spain, a hidden gem. There is great selection of hikes in the area, and the Cantabrian mountains are glorious. Olga happily shares the secrets of the area and the best country routes to travel. Her home has been renovated with love and care, and is a step back in...

Not only are the house and rooms old and elegant, so are the contents. Like stepping back in time to a more sedate and tranquil era. The village is also attractive and quiet. Excellent welcome from the owner. The house has a decent sized garden, partly lawn, partly fruit and vegetables, where it is pleasant to sit and dream. Plenty...

I immediately loved this posada. It´s cute, cozy, and charming-----a perfect place to relax in such a peaceful area. Everything is so well-manicured; you can tell they put a lot of thought and effort into building this little paradise. The rooms are super comfortable. And there are little corners in the sitting rooms as well as the gardens that are...

Prado Mayor is a beautiful 16c house set in a stunning scenic area of Spain, it's perfectly located for an overnight stop enroute to Santander or a for a few days exploring the amazing countryside walking or biking that's on the doorstep. The house and rooms at Prado Mayor are spotlessly clean, peaceful and comfortable, one of our favourite stops...

Recommended by a friend for our first trip to Northern Spain. A quiet little village of Quintinitanilla Del Robollar 53 Burgos in the mountains, at the end of which is the El Prado Mayor. First impressions good. Once inside well up to standard in terms of comfort and quality of all fixtures and fittings as well as superb service from...
