We stayed 2 nights on our way to Vegas from Los Angeles. You won't get more for your money anywhere else in Big Bear. The location is right in the downtown area and we walked to dinner and live music. Not many hostels have a mini fridge and sofa in the bedroom. Very nice and the price was right.

The property is definitely on the utilitarian side of things....very basic. But on that note it is very clean and functional. You can't beat the location! Just a block or two from Big Bear Village with restaurants, bars and shopping. Big Bear is a great little town and this is definitely a great place if you are on a budget!

I had a fabulous time on my recent trip up to Big Bear! This hostel was the perfect place to stay, the inside is spacious yet cozy and everything is super clean. There is a nice living room to lounge in with a huge stone fire place and cushy sofa. There's also a big fridge and kitchen if you want...

There's a level of TLC that goes on in great hostels, and this is one of them. If you haven't been to a youth hostel, this is a good place to dip your toe in the water (I would have to write an entire book to explain what a YH is to you, newbie, but at least know that you'll...

I like that this hostel isn't too big. Staff were friendly and guests all pretty chilled. We had a private room which did the job well. There were air fresheners placed throughout the hostel, bathroom tissues and paper towels were a good quality, and these little touches make a big difference. Most hostels don't smell very nice. There were not...

I've stayed at this hostel several times. The staff is always extremely friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere is very warm and cozy. The rooms and common areas are very clean, and I've always had good experiences there. It's interesting to meet fellow travelers at the hostel as you often have people from other countries passing through. You definitely have...

My wife and I took our niece to Big Bear, to see snow. It was just going to be a day trip, we did not plan on staying.. But because of the New Years holiday and traffic, we got there late and decided to try and find someplace nice and CHEAP to stay so that we could enjoy a little...

I stayed here last year when it was being run as a vacation rental, and I understand it's closed now for renovations and will re-open this Fall as a regular hostel. Have stayed at a number of other hostels in different places, and IMO, based on friendliness alone, this is one of the best. The owner has a great personality,...
