Reviews of bishop hotels seemed to indicate low quality of most places besides this and it surely lived up to the positive reviews we've seen. A small "hotel" or rather call it 11 room guesthouse with clean pleasant rooms. kids loved the bunk beds, bathroom was pleasantly clean and nice. no refrigerator or kitchenette but there is a common room for those can of needs that can be shared among guests. My kids felt like they were at home-it a homey feel. Nice picnic tables by a little pretty pond. the owners sent all arrival info before so we were able to go to our rooms without any check-in. We were in a room called Basin, the curtains on the bunk beds had a slight odor to them and the AC could've worked a little better but otherwise cannot complain.
Individual rooms for 2 or the whole family, very clean, sort of a European concept with a community commons areas (kitchen, dining, laundry, indoor/outdoor relaxing areas). Very nice staff that were very attentive to any need.
I did not want to write a review because I don't want anyone else to know about this darling place. Was hoping to keep it a secret, but this place is fantastic! Yes, it is considered a "Hostel", but it's not what you imagine. It's community living, but you can still have a private room with your own private bathroom. The only thing that was shared was the community area, deck and kitchen. Great place to meet other people and families. The set up is so nice and loved staying there. Can't wait to come back! LOVE IT!!
I spent a night at Eastside Guesthouse as I was driving from Reno to LA. I stayed in the dorm, which turned out to be a super nice experience. Everything so clean and the beds super convenient and super comfortable. Common areas are great. Will definitely go back. I wish there were more places like this!
We have been visiting East Sierra in October 2019 and we spent one night at Eastside Guesthouse. It's a unique place - designed in style of European mountain shelters, with small but very stylish and well equipped rooms and a lot of well organized common space. There are places to seat and to eat in front of each cottage and first of all - a very spacious kitchen area with all necessary utensils. The Guesthouse is quite new, very clean with very comfortable beds, although you should be prepared for bunk beds in some rooms. The owners were nice and helpful - the registration is well organized even for late arrivals. It's a good choice for people on their way to Sierra Mountains or to Yosemite NP, with the atmosphere of a mountain shelter rather than a typical motel. Do not forget to visit a great bakery next to the Guesthouse! It's a unique place worth seeing and tasting their bread and cakes.…
