This Holiday Inn Express is great if you have a dog because the entire first floor is pet friendly. However, in my 2 recent stays, there was enough of a dog pee odor to be very distracting and unpleasant. The lobby is depressing, the staff not too enthusiastic, and there is an overall moldy/mildew smell. I can’t believe I paid more than $200 on a weeknight for this experience! I looked up the much nicer looking Creekside Inn across the street and it is cheaper! I should have stayed there but my previous Holiday Inn Express stays have been nice, clean and positive. Won’t be staying at the Bishop Holiday Inn Express again. It is also HQ for the crews that work for the City of LA Department of Water and Power it seems. Check out the tight parking lot.

Hi Toni R, Thank you for taking a moment to share your feedback with us. I appreciate your positive remarks on our pet-friendly property. We pledge to provide comfortable and friendly accommodations. I am sorry to learn about the issues with the level of customer service delivered, the parking area, and the cleanliness standards of the property. We make sure that every guest feels cared for and valued. Your experience is certainly not the norm for our property. I assure you I have shared your feedback with the hotel management as a reference to prevent the shortcomings from happening again. I guarantee the actions taken will ensure our guests only receive the best lodging encounter. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Bishop California as part of an Eastern Sierra Nevada sight seeing vacation. The room was clean. The room was not equipped with enough towels for two people but the front desk provided them on request. The breakfast was not as good as other Holiday Inns we have stayed at.

The major problem with this hotel is parking. Do not expect to find a parking space if you arrive in the evening. Driving somewhere for dinner is not an option as there is no place to park on your return. This hotel has a contract with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power for their workers long term stays. They take up the majority of the rooms in the hotel. The workers park their large service trucks in the parking lot as well as their additional personal cars. The hotel does not have sufficient parking for two cars per guest. I overheard several heated comments between customers and hotel desk staff about this issue and it was obvious that hotel management is only concerned about taking care of the DWP.

The hotel is really modern and very clean. Easy check in and check out. Very convenient for dogs with a park across the street. However, the staff looks like they don’t want to be there. We didn’t have enough towels so I went to the front desk to get some and the guy did not want to give them to me before he checked the number of persons checked in the room. Equally, the toiletries were for 1 person only. That shows that housekeeping is not doing their job.
What I like in that hotel is that they offer breakfast. You tell them what you want (eggs, sausage, pancakes, oatmeal) and they put it in a box and give it to you. Again the lady working the breakfast station looked highly annoyed. She didn’t say hello or respond to “good morning”.
I would stay again in this hotel because it is convenient and clean. But the management should really work with their employees on their attitude. It doesn’t reflect good on Holiday Inn

I had recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Medford, OR and had a great stay and experience. The Bishop HIE is a major disappointment. First, this is a pet friendly hotel which is fine but guests travelling with dogs have been very careless. One guest had 2 dogs, off leash, and one tried getting in our room when my husband was stepping back in. There has been a dog barking in the hallway outside of our room every night of our 3 night stay. When we complained to the front desk the lady said she would make a note on our file to book us a room on the 2nd floor on our next stay. Pets are only allowed on the first floor. That seemed to be an easier solution than just dealing with the actual problem. Our first morning, the breakfast food was almost wiped clean with still an hour left. The one person working was doing dishes in the back because there were no plates left. I've never seen anything like this at any hotel. This morning, I tried to get some coffee and there was only 1/2 a cups worth at just before 9:30am. The smart TV in the room doesn't work for casting. Front desk had no solution for that. Walls are thin. We're spending over $500 for a 3 night stay and it's just a shame. Next time we're in town, we'll try the Creekside Inn across the street.

This hotel is about what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn Express--clean, but nothing special. There was one major annoyance, however. They have a new TV system which is anything but intuitive. I had to have the desk clerk come up to the room to show me how to work it. A simple "how to" sheet in the room would have been very helpful.

Otherwise, the room was fine. Breakfast in the morning offered the usual hotel breakfast, except you told the staff person what you wanted, and she got it for you. I had scrambled eggs, which were about as good as hotel scrambled eggs usually are.

The Bed. Was. So. Comfortable!!!! Even though the hotel was right on the Main Street, it was surprisingly quiet. Did not hurt that it was very convenient to Schatz Bakery either! The parking was adequate if a bit tight… and the flowers!!!!
I love the newer room layout that HEI is using with the wall hooks snd a longer area for a luggage stand. Would stay here again!

Lousy cancellation policy. One price option requires 7 days notice. The other requires 48 hours. There is no option over 24 hours for cancellation, so I was charged for two nights because I stayed one day later after receiving a confirmation of my cancellation online for the first night. In addition, they gave me no rewards points for my one night stay 11 days before. I'll never stay there again.

We stayed here for 2 nights to do a hike down in Big Pine. This hotel is located right in the center of town and is close proximity to restaurants. A big plus for us was we were able to bring our dog with us and there is a dog park right in front of the hotel. They also have free breakfast.

We were on the way from Las Vegas to Lake Tahoe and stopped in Bishop for one night. The Holiday Inn seemed for us convenient, so we booked the hotel over booking.com. Funny was, that when we asked for the room rate, is was $50 higher than on booking.com.
The rooms had a good sitze, the beds very comfortable, the shower a good pressure, the breakfast was pretty good, therefore nothing to complain about. $20 for a normal parking space I would consider as to high, taking in accout, that on the strip in Las Vegas we paid $5.- only and that including valet parking.
