We have been camping here for almost 30 years and always come over July 4th to escape the fireworks because they frighten our dog. We've camped in the pouring down rain and the best of weather and its always amazing. The tent cabins are wonderful and very spacious. The beds are so comfortable now that the new mattresses are in...thanks,...

FIRST! With the tents you have to check in at the gift shop with is located across from the normal check-in office. Do yourself a very big favor, don't do a weekend, you won't get the full effect of the solitude that awaits you. Arrive on a Sunday and leave on a Thursday. Four of us used this as our...

What a beautiful area to camp! The redwoods are breathtaking. Clean grounds, not to crowded, clean bathrooms made for a wonderful weekend of exploring. Close to town for supplies & restaurants. Many trails to choose from in the area for the beginners and advanced hikers. The beach is only a 20 minute drive from it & the ride up Highway...

The tent cabins seemed like a good idea at the time... The tents are musty, old and have huge holes in them. So if you are staying close to any water you will be feasted upon by Mosquitos. We sprayed the entire tent contents with repellant and still was attacked while we slept. We camped a lot during this trip...

We flew out to California with the family and had a variety of things we were doing, so bringing our camping gear really wasn't a good option for us. This park rented the tent cabins with a special package for people like us. The cabin came with the firewood, cooking gear, lighter, 2 bags of ice, sleeping bags (with tags...

My family just came home from two nights tent camping at Big Basin. We wanted to experience the redwoods and camping but didn't want to pitch a tent so this was a great compromise. I was surprised at how clean and roomy the tent cabins are with the two full size beds, table and stove. The camp space also had...

I had been planning to go tent camping as usual, when my friend from Mazatlan, Mexico announced she was coming to visit. She hadn't been camping before, much less in a redwood forest, which couldn't be much more different from where she comes from, so I switched to a tent cabin. I was glad I did. All of the cabins...

We had a super time! The tent cabin was spacious and clean, even had a little wood stove inside. Our site was pretty good, and from what I could tell all the tent cabins had very nice, large private sites. Incredibly beautiful park-- so great sleeping under a redwood canopy.
