David gave us the most magical evening tonight. His charm and service went above and beyond. You can tell that he really loves his job. The plates came out very beautiful and in record time. The new menu is classy and original. He made sure we had everything we needed before we even knew what happened. Thank you David and thank you Château Vaudreuil for always making the best of our experience here!
We enjoyed a romantic stay at Chateau Vaudreuil during our tour of Canada. We drove from Toronto to Montréal bit stayed here in between. I would definitely return. The grounds were lovely and I’m sure they host weddings. It is as pretty as the pictures. There were some water activities and other sports included which if we would have had more time we would have enjoyed. Our room was very pretty and had plenty of room. The beds were comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant but the portions were small and it was pricey. However, the grounds of the Chateau were so pretty we just really enjoyed sitting on the chairs by the lake and relaxing. I plan on going back.
I have stayed here before many times throughout the years for business. We have even had holidays parties here as well. Unfortunately the hotel is changing and the service is lacking. The restaurant food and service is not what it used to be at all. Dinner does not come with sides anymore you have to buy them separately, the chef used to make a masterpiece, now it’s a make shift dinner that comes in 2-3 different plates, depending on what sides you order. It’s a ridiculous change and I can see travellers looking for other places to stay. It used to be a beautiful, comfortable and upscale hotel where guests were the focus now it’s all about the money.....sad.
We have had a weekend luncheon many times a year with Patricia as server in the past. Very punctual and as expected for this establishment. She must have retired. We walked out December 2018 after being seated for 35 minutes. No menus, water service or acknowledgement by staff. We tried again this last weekend at lunch hour, sitting outside. One server only, overworked, and mostly distracted by other clients eating from the buffet offerings. Service was non-existent, menu food was bland, requests for condiments took more than 10 minutes, which sadly resulted in his almost non-existent tip. After nine months we will likely wait 18 months to reconsider a visit. Time for management to tidy up.
A disappointing family outing for six of us: at $55 per person, brunch was simply unacceptable: shrimps were unpeeled and overcooked, fried calamares were oily and cold, roast beef was average at best and unflavorful, breads were stale, pasta and egg line-ups were disorganized and needlessly slow, desserts were fine but dessert station iitself was unmanaged and looked like a war zone. In short, a bad gastronomical experience!
