My husband and I stayed for a few days for our 25th anniversary. I would highly recommend staying at The Ugadale. The food was great..though reservations are recommended to ensure a table, especially in the pub. The room was very large with a great bathroom. My husband thought the golf was incredible. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was the best I...

6 of us went on a 2 night break to machrahanish and stayed at the ugadale. 2 in a room and 4 in a cottage. Accommodations were superb in both. Well equipped and finished. Staff and breakfast were excellent and there was good food and atmosphere in the adjoining pub. Golf at the Dunes was included and we had 3.5...

Holidaying in Lochgilphead my wife and I drove down to Macrihanish stopping en route at Drumlemble where 60+ years ago I had spent many happy holidays and had frequently walked to the Course then 'caddied'! I always promised myself that I would have a meal at the Ugadale when I grew up and I have now achieved that ambition. Thank...

We were a group of 6 (50-something male) golfers who took advantage of a mid-week bed & breakfast, unlimited golf on the Dunes course package. It was excellent value and the accommodation was of a very high standard. 4 of us shared a cottage, whilst the other 2 were in a twin room in the adjacent Ugadale Hotel. It was...

High quality operation - stayed in their self-catering cottages.High spec, comfortable & worth the cash, especially if you're able to take advantage of the unlimited golf at their Dunes course. Breakfast was good.Only slight quibble the standard of bar food served in the pub - strictly pub grub.Avoid the pizza...

Having travelled the world in search of great golf experiences (Kauri Cliffs, Pebble Beach, Fancourt, American Club among them), I was astonished to find this gem in my native Scotland. I went on a golf trip with friends in July and enjoyed it so much that I went back with my wife in August. My expectations were for good golf...

My son and I have regular golfing breaks in Scotland, and having heard of the quality of the golf courses decided on Machrihanish as the destination for our next trip. We booked into the Ugadale Hotel on one of its golfing packages that gave us unlimited golf at Machrihanish Dunes. We took the train down from Aberdeen to Ardrossan, and took...

We spent two nights with friends in a 2 bedroom cottage and from check in to check out everything was excellent. Staff are warm and friendly and the cottages are modern and well appointed. Rooms are large and the massive bed provided an undisturbed nights sleep. We ate in both the adjacent pub and hotel restaurant and the menu in...
