Indian Springs Calistoga hotel garners mixed feedback, with many guests applauding the hotel's relaxing vibe and praising its convenient location for exploring Calistoga. The mineral pools and spa services are often highlighted as key amenities, though some guests feel these do not justify the premium pricing. While the resort's cleanliness generally receives commendations, the value proposition is contentious, with a number of travelers questioning the cost relative to the quality of rooms and services. Service quality and room noise levels are also areas where guest experiences vary.

Second time in Calistoga but first time stay in Indian Spring Resort , overall great experience, unexpected upgrade to a dual back to back cottage at checked in was a surprised to us, loved the cottage #18 cute and roomy for 2 people, mini living room with big sofa good for one more person to sleep in, homey feeling very clean, next door to front desk, parking in front of cottage, one minute walk to the pools area, cucumber/lemon flavored water to drink provided by the pool area, complimentary bicycle to ride around is a plus, I have not ridden a bike for many many years and I was surprised that I can still ride, there goes saying "once you learn to ride a bike you'll never forget, very clean big mineral hot spring pool (bluish color), adult pool is much smaller but its alright very warm as well but not as hot as the mineral pool 100 degrees if i remember it right, around the area:plan to have breakfast or brunch before 2:30 pm most eatery are close at 2:30 and open again at 5pm we didn't plan on going out again late afternoon had big lunch and skipped dinner so we have more time in the pool side, beside meal was not our priority my husband and I are weighed conscious so there. The only thing is the rate per night is a bit pricey on weekend but if we have our way and extra cash to spend for our life enjoyment ( hey!! life is short all of us need some R&R at some point) Indian Spring would be our first choice to go back to in Calistoga. Would highly recommend to anybody, but of course, this is from my own point of view. I don't know how will be yours....why don't you try it out ...

What an awesome place. This was our first stay and we can’t wait to return some day. We stayed in a bungalow up near the front of the resort which was a perfect location. We had the mud bath spa treatment which was very cool and exactly as described in their brochure. The huge pool was perfectly heated and the adult’s pool slightly cooler. Pool noodles and floats are floating around for use. Delicious cucumber water is available everywhere you go. If you’re lucky, you can grab a bike to ride around the property.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Indian Springs Calistoga during my recent stay. From check-in to check-out, everything was superb. The staff are welcoming, friendly and don't hover. Our room was one of the view rooms with a balcony in a corner unit (highly recommend). Bikes are available, but some of the guests hoard them in their units so grab them if you see them! The pool was very relaxing and the location is literal steps from Lincoln St., which is the main street. A very nice surprise is the water bottles in our room. There are filtered water stations throughout the property and it was a nice treat to have water whenever we wanted it! A perfect location and minutes from most of the wineries!

Really needed a vacation but not willing to get on a plane yet. Chose to drive 12 hours to Indian Springs and are very glad we did. Great property, great service. But mostly, it was very comfortable in these COVID times. The property and pool are very spacious and the staff does a great job sanitizing and promoting social distancing and mask wearing. Will definitely return.

Oy! Been coming for years and years. You guys have some work to do!

1. We stayed in Hillview rooms. Super loud. AC units are loud, gravel driveway at night is loud with cars driving through at all hours. Maybe limit through traffic at night to reduce noise and disruption to guests? Cleaning crew's walkie talkies are too loud in the morning and wake you up.

2. Are ANY of the employees happy? Thinking that morale is bad around there. Didn't come into contact with even one pleasant/cheerful person our entire stay. "Intern" at check in was uppity, knew nothing about wine tasting options in town, barely helpful in trying to assist me in upgrading our room. Sam's host was unhelpful when we came at 11:09 for breakfast, saying breakfast ends at 11am, but technically they end it at 10:30. Which is it? Employees at The Chaise Lounge were totally unfriendly despite trying to be overly friendly and repeatedly thanking them for their service. The towel folders in the little pool office were cranky when we attempted to grab 2 rolled towels instead of grabbing them off the unrolled stack where they were working. Weird. Why are no employees happy there? It's a bit of a downer when the guests are the only people who are happy.

3. Menu at Sam's. It hasn't changed in years. And, it use to be better when they had a wedge salad, the Strauss Sundae and a few other options. All that work on the interior...just hire a new food/bev manager with some new ideas for food and cocktails. We always stop in to see latest changes and menu, but always go to town for dinner after the underwhelming, same 'ol menu.

4. The prices! Really, I know times are tough, but these prices are getting too steep when you take the lacking service into account and you are afraid to inconvenience anyone to purchase a cocktail, upgrade your room, etc. Also, a few stays ago, we stayed in the lodge. Are you sure those beds are queen size? They felt like a double. The water machines are fine, but I miss the cucumber water! And the Italian lemon cookies from the bakery in Berkeley.

Hi Awcmama, Thank you for the years of support of the resort. Long time, repeat guests are so important to us and your feedback is certainly taken to heart. I appreciate you putting it together and sharing with us. I have to admit I am disheartened to read that your experience was not what you remembered, particularly in the way of staff friendliness. We will do as you say and keep working to get better and I do hope you will continue to visit the resort. We have been through a lot over the past couple years as individuals and as an organization and while its been difficult to get back to being staffed in a proper way, I do believe we have the best leadership team in place that the resort has ever had, and we will keep pushing to get better. Thank you for sharing this all with me and please reach out to me next time you are at the resort as I would love to meet you in person. Sincerely, Chris Costas General Manager

We went to Indian Springs for a birthday celebration. As we sat in chairs around the pool hours before we needed to check-out to return to our normal life, we started chatting with other guests sitting near us and realized we all had the same problem. We didn't want to leave but had to go. Indian Springs is a magical place. Floating on pool noodles in the mineral waters our stress and tension slipped away. We rode the bikes around the property and felt younger. We dined at Sam's Social Club for breakfast and dinner and the food was delicious and the service was excellent. We appreciated the complimentary water bottles that were in the room when we arrived. We used them at purified water stations throughout the property. Rooms are cleaned with many extra Covid-19 precautions. The town is right outside the resort so it is a close walk to a supermarket, stores and restaurants. We hope to return soon to Indian Springs. It is truly a special place.

We've been coming to Indian Springs for many years. As they have continued to expand and evolve, the environment remains distinct and wonderful. Beautiful yet relaxed and informal. The lodging has become increasingly expensive over the years, but the commitment to quality remains. The pools remain one of the top draws...there is no other pool experience like it around. We stayed in a geyser room...pricey yet well maintained and appointed. The grounds are well kept, the restaurant quality = excellent! Great service all around.
The grounds are well kept and lovely. Indian Springs magic. Not like other spa resorts...and that's what's special about it.

I had been wanting to stay here forever and I finally got the chance to do a girls trip a few weeks ago. It was great but I would say it was overpriced and I think there are plenty of beautiful places to stay with better value.

Pros:
The grounds are nice. If you went with kids there are lots of lawn games.

The Pool is amazing, and the geyser is on site.

The mud baths were fun.

Water bottle filling stations.

Cons:
No room service

Few pool attendants. For a 5 star price tag I at least expect food/trash to be cleared on regular basis.

We came to Calistoga to visit family vineyards on Howell Mountain, so wanted someplace on the north side of Napa Valley. Indian Springs was our home for a long weekend. We got a geyser view room and really loved the natural views and fireplace. The bathroom was huge with a fantastic shower, and it was nice having the little fridge for cheeses and breakfast items. We laughed that we were soon amongst the couples walking through the parking lot and on the paths in our robes as we ventured to the hot mineral pool for a quiet soak after dinner. Truly magical as the steam rose in the winter air, and even with others in the pool, we appreciated that they enforced no music/boomboxes or cell phones to keep the experience relaxing and quiet. The bed was comfortable enough, and though the room wasn't huge, it was enough with a few extra chairs and small balcony. Remember to bring flip flops. They had a wine opener and safe in the room along with coffee, tea, and creamer (and yes, the great robes for your stay). The only thing we missed was housekeeping, namely to take out the trash because we did accumulate food containers, cups, etc., but not a big deal. The firepits were most welcome in the cool winter air, and we enjoyed being walking distance to restaurants in town. Sam's General Store made a nice breakfast/lunch stop across the street. Not cheap (but really nothing is there), but worth it for the experience/pools and proximity to the northern part of the valley.

I took my girlfriend there for her birthday for the weekend. It cost $1200 and for that my room came with a non-working light, intermittent cable, coffee machine and fridge. The pool was amazing as ever but many of the restaurants in the area are either closed or have limited menus. Sam's in no exception to this rule. No spa services of course. The limited food and spa options are understandable but not worth the price of lodging.

My opinion only; but, Geyser View definitely!!!!!! Upstairs absolutely because of privacy and not a lot of people walking in front of you. Best experience would be the corner rooms because they are totally enclosed just for your room, fireplace and king bed. We had corner room Building #5 and it was perfect.

They actually have a lovely little built-in espresso machine. The problem was that it was hard not to spill, which the rug underneath demonstrated, and we were unable to clean it as grounds were everywhere inside the machine which didn’t come out of the built-in place. They did provide Illy coffee

I don't think the sulfur smell is very strong. It's not like nasty rotten eggs. However, if you are very sensitive, I think you'd prefer a hill view. The geysers are quite prominent, which is a large part of the rustic and original charm. Love that place!! Have fun!

No kitchen. Couch and small chair, coffee maker in living room, which is around 12 x12, Not much privacy. I was very disappointed.
