Food is very basic. The staff needs better training and knowledge. Bit lost most of the time. Be preapared to wait for long. The kitchen brigade perhaps is not equipped to handle large orders. Chicken marru and beens Dashi was good. Good value for money though.

We stayed at Hotel Sonam Trophel for 3 nights and we had an excellent stay. The hotel staff were very co-operative and courteous. The food was awesome. The hotel room was cozy. Moreover, it is located on the main road and is very near to the shopping destinations, restaurants etc.

The hotel staff were very unaccommodating, the rooms were very small and the service was terrible. We had to change hotels because our travel agent booked it and we didn't get a refund for the room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We were on a budget travel & looked up for options online. Found Sonam Trophel with good reviews. Hence decided to stay. Pros: budget hotel, like expected. Decent room, spacious bathroom, amazing food, walking distance to the town and Paro dzong. The staff was friendly. They helped me with information on the best place for currency exchange when we couldn't...

We only had lunch once in this place. The food was good and tasty. We really enjoyed it. I guess its a preferred place among Indians. Our driver suggested this restaurant . Located centrally in the city.

Only stay in deluxe rooms, standard rooms are not maintained well. The best thing about accommodation is it's waking distance from market, only 4 km from Airport and the delicious food they serve. The lady at reception is nice, she ensured accommodation for us without advance, immediately provided us deluxe room at same cost when we refused to accept standard...

Bad attitude is the undoing of every joint ...and everything in general. Probably the positive reviews of the original restaurant by the same name ..have gone to their heads ...or whatever houses that rather repulsive attitude ...we were made to place an order about 2.5 hrs earlier than dinner time ...left in limbo while ordering and given the impression that...

Stayed here in May 2015. Well located close to the main market area. Rooms are neat and well insulated. The restaurant is really good and food is tasty. They have a convenient store next door also for buying essentials. Very good if you are looking for a budget stay. Staff was helpful and friendly.

This hotel in Paro is quite a popular choice, especially amongst Indian tourists and that is primarily on account of the wonderful food that the restaurant at the hotel offers. Though we were staying elsewhere, we took a look at the rooms at the hotel during a visit to the restaurant, as an option to consider for stay at Paro...
