Rooms were clean, but very minimalist. They don't have a lot of character, but the resort has amenities that make it attractive, including the gorgeous beach, the hot tubs and the indoor heated swimming pool, which is nice for winter.
Nice, well taken care of park by the sea, standing up to its name. Sparkling clean water in the swimming pool, which is a rare find in Uruguayan hotel swimming pools! Comfy brand new sunbeds. Large rooms. Internet worked well. Good air conditioning in rooms. Shaded car park. Breakfast was very basic and served in a small room, not in the main restaurant, which is only used for dinner. This is a very hot, crowded place and air conditioning was never turned on. Only one overworked person taking care of replenishing buffet, clearing up tables, etc. Dark corridors with many burnt/switched off lamps. Not very good value for money, but as stated in the title of my review, not many options available in the area.
We were visiting Chuy for the day from our part-time home in Montevideo and decided to stay as this property for one night. We expected it to be lightly occupied but we were the only ones at the property. The property is actually nice with a lovely dining room, indoor and outdoor pool and a few hundred feet from the ocean and a beautiful beach. The rooms were, well, just a room and nothing special for $150 per night. The internet in the room was nearly non-existent and the room reminded us of a hotel in the 60's. Definitely not a 3, 4, star hotel room in our opinion. It may be a good choice to take children in the summer as they have 2 pools and a beautiful beachfront location. One plus was the restaurant where we dined. The service was wonderful (we were the only ones there) and the food was very good. The buffet breakfast was also good and had some meats, cheeses, bread, rolls and coffee.…
Checked in late in the evening, and in spite of being hardly occupied the rate offered was the rack rate. Then came the bombs..., wifi was very very week in the room, AND, NO TV CABLE. They blamed the electric outage due to a severe storm that had just passed by, but at least they could have offered a discount on the already expensive rate. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Dinner food was good though, and prices were reasonable.
This hotel is gradually being updated, the basics are there. Nice big rooms and large common areas surrounded by manicured lawns and a few friendly and not so friendly dogs. Food is good and substantial breakfasts. Good place to stop off en route.
