This hotel will weave a magic spell about you, and you will return again and again, if you can. Imagine staying in a large country house where your hosts welcome you and give you the freedom of their house and garden, with its palms, olive and citrus trees, vines and the deep blue Aegean Sea there, at the end of...

A friend here in Norway told us about this hotel, and how great it was. We immediately got curious, and decided to book a room for a week. Fortunately it really lived up to all our expectations! We had a great stay, and will surely go back there. Obviously, if your'e looking for a luxury hotel with fancy swimming pools...

We stayed over the Easter period as I couldn't believe Iannis' comment that we wouldn't have to worry as we would be spending Easter with the Iannis family. Surely this was a private occasion. But no - that was exactly what we did. From the moment we arrived everything was organised, notes left on the main door so that you...

We arrived very early (7:00 am) by rented car after overnight ferry from Athens, travel weary and wondering what to do till our room might be ready. We drove down a long driveway past pomegranates, walked around a corner into a glasswalled hall overlooking the sea, and were promptly offered a sumptuous breakfast along with other early risers, which we...

If you're looking for an amazing experience, this is the outfit for you! Trips, meals, ambiance, everything was picture perfect! I cannot wait to come back and I look forward to being like some of the other guests we met who have been coming to Votsala for 20+ years!

It is a great place to stay indeed, something really special. Will never forget breakfast in the garden with this beautiful seaview, accompanied by the adagietto of Mahlers 5th.

Our family did return to Votsala for a week - cockroaches and lizards were not found anymore, as the bathrooms did get some refurbishment. This is such a good place for real relaxing holidays.

We are among the majority of Votsala guests who have made a return visit. The reason for this, I believe, is that Votsala is much more than just a hotel. It does that quite nicely, with spotlessly clean, simple rooms and a delicious breakfast every morning. You can order drinks at the bar during the day and evening, and enjoy...

Previous reviewers have loved this hotel and it has many pluses. The seaside location is unspoilt, the atmosphere relaxing, the owners and staff friendly and the food (dinners twice a week) excellent. The nearby fishing port, with its two tavernas, is pleasingly uncommercial and there is plenty of scope for excursions into the island (organised by Iannis and his staff)....

Dear rovermac, just a note two years later to thank you for your comment and let you know that since last year all bathrooms are fully renovated. we had to renovate all bathrooms gradually, so probably it took us longer than we were hoping... we are glad that you had a nice time on Lesvos and we hope to welcome...

Ever had two cockroages in the shower and little salamanders in the room and you really didn't care? Ever wanted to give presents to the management and the staff of a hotel after having paid the bill and did so? Ever been enrolled in a hotel trip to a monastery to witness a Greek ortodox baptism and been asked to...
