The Sandpiper Inn is a very homely place. We were lucky to have been given a ground floor room thanks to someone very kindly checking in with booking.com regarding my husband's walking difficulties. The location is 2 minutes walk from the ocean which allows for superb sunset opportunities. The only reason for one less star was the breakfast. It wasn't... More

We stayed 2 nights in this quaint hotel. Comfortable bedroom which was smaller than normal. Friendly helpful staff. Freedom to use Kitchen. Complimentary water from the fridge, afternoon tea and sherry.. Hotel located very close to beautiful beach. Nice walk to centre of Carmel where there are some lovely restaurants. Local residents very friendly

This was the last stop on our California holiday so we decided to splash out for our last place and are so glad we chose the Sandpiper. We had room 5 which was lovely, we woke in the morning to the sound of the ocean and the view from our window was fantastic. The room was large and well equipped... More

Very cosy, friendly and special place. Loved the atmosphere and location (very close to the sea, and further down the center). Got the C room (isolated little house) and we were really amazed by it. Breakfast is great and the owners are really nice with the guests.

We stayed during the first week of September. The room we were originally set to stay in was #7 but due to the door lock not working we were upgraded to a king room - room #5. Both rooms were very nice, but due to the size I would highly recommend the upgrade if you can swing it. The location... More

We absolutely loved our stay here. The breakfast is great and everyone is warm and professional. The rooms were very clean and I loved the decor---we had two queen ocean view rooms. The only though thing is that the walls can be a bit thin. But after 11pm, all of the people staying there seemed very considerate of that. It... More

We stayed in room 7. The room was a little small, but we already knew that from the information on the website. We were pleasantly surprised by the ocean view, as it was better than we expected. Small bathroom, but very nice. The grounds are beautifully landscaped like most of the houses in that area. It was probably the best... More

Stayed here in July, 2013 for the third -- or maybe the fourth -- time in the last few years. This is a home-away-from-home sort of place, outside the center of tiny but sometimes bustling Carmel itself. The beach is a block away, the neighborhood is residential and quiet and the Inn is a lovely house with a few cottages... More

Stayed here for one night. Booked last minute and was glad that they accepted 1-night bookings even on a weekend...that was critical~! The location is EXCELLENT - 1-block from beach and about a 1mile from downtown shops and restaurants. The service is great - welcomed by hostess when we checked in. Room was ready and clean. Requested the host (shift... More

Stayed here in May. Nicely decorated and large rooms. Very close to the ocean. Great continental breakfast in main room with cozy fireplace. You can have meat or veggie quiche, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, tea and coffee that is all part of room price. Room prices are lower than most B&B in Carmel. Parking is never a problem. A wonderful... More
