I traveled home to see family and to avoid offending different relatives who wanted me to stay with them I opted for the Pine Inn which I have known since I grew up in Carmel and lived a few blocks away in the late 60's through the 80's. I made the mistake of thinking it was a full service hotel...

Good Morning, I wanted to respond to this review in a positive manner. It is entirely true that we do not have coffee makers in the guest rooms. The Pine Inn is an Historical Landmark within the city of Carmel-by-the-Sea in addition to being the 1st hotel built in the city circa 1889. The ownership has tried over the years...

Not only is the location wonderful, but the property is too. Our room was very nicely decorated and the people at the front desk were very nice. Carmel is such a beautiful location with great shops and restaurants.

This place is a little gem! We just had a 1 night stay here this week Perfect location in the very centre of Carmel just a 5 min walk down to the beach (downhill but uphill coming back) Carmel itself is so pretty! Lots of boutique shops art galleries and quaint restaurants. It really was a beautiful place to potter...

First time back to Carmel in a decade and first time at Pine Inn. Quaint old hotel in heart of town within an easy walk of the shops and restaurants. Rooms are scattered on 3 levels amongst dining, coffee and shopping areas. Wonderful breakfast included to feast on at the sunny porch. Delightful staff always willing to assist. Parking conveniently...

We wanted a quiet place to stay before taking on the Big Sur after the hustle and bustle of San Francisco - particularly as the Holiday Inn had been so noisy (we were able to share our neighbours tv programmes through the walls, and the domestics). This served the purpose so well. It was very close to the delightful shops...

Great location. All the rooms are very clean and the food was wonderful. Ask for the patio room if you want a great location in the hotel as some rooms are small and you have to use the stairs. Oscar in the restaurant is a wonderful server and all the hotel personnel are very helpful and friendly. We look forward...

I have stayed at the Pine Inn several times and nothing has changed. The old world charm of this hotel must be on the visitor's 'ok' list. The décor is Victorian with authentic furnishings. Modern is not a word that comes to mind. It is a charming and romantic hotel centrally located in Carmel By the Sea. It is one...

I loved staying at this hotel. It has an authentic Victorian feel yet is updated and incredibly comfortable. It reminds me of similar Victorian bed and breakfasts where we used to stay on the coast of Maine, yet it also has that particular Northern California charm. The ambience is lovely, from the lobby to the hallways and rooms themselves. We...

This lovely hotel has very nice furnishings in the lobby. Wonderful front desk people with good recommendations. There is a private parking area which is a big deal in this city where parking can be very difficult. The attached Il Fornaio restaurant is so nice for the included breakfast with room rate. Our room was quite comfortable. Carmel is an...
