We generally stay at this inn 2 to 3 times per year. It's centrally located off main street in Carmel's main street. Easy walking distance to all shopping and the ocean. The rooms have fireplaces. And seperate bedrooms. Continental breakfast is served in the lobby area. Thecrooms, are clean and, cozy. The hotel periodically offers during the week nightly discounts. They offer...

Four dear women friends enjoyed a weekend stay in what was really a small 3-bedroom, 2-bath home with living room and full kitchen ("Stephenson House"). We were celebrating two birthdays and thoroughly enjoyed the comfort, well-appointed kitchen, proximity to excellent restaurants (and the Ocean Street parade celebrating Carmel's anniversary), and the availability of a light, quick breakfast in a small...

My East Coast daughter booked Briarwood for our mother/daughter overnight adventure during her most visit. It was all that we hoped it would be. We arrived in the early evening, parked by our room, and walked to Ocean Street to explore the shops. Back to our room, with two huge, comfortable beds and a sitting area. After a solid night's...

The good: the young woman who checked me in was great. The bed was very comfortable. Location was great. Walking distance to most everything. The bad: most everything else. Other than the person who checked me in, the staff was uncommunicative, bordering on rude. Room was smelly. Bathroom tiny. "Breakfast"???.... Bagel and coffee. Hard boiled egg if you asked for...

Cute B&B. The breakfast could have been better because it only consisted of bagels, apples, oranges, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. Muffins and toast would have been nice if they didn't provide a cooked breakfast. We had a great room at a fair price with a king bed, fireplace and living room. Slow internet. Easily walk to shops and restaurants....

Our room felt like an upgraded cabin. It was a good size, especially for inns in Carmel, with a sitting area. We had a bottle of wine waiting and friendly service. The bed was nothing to write home about, but it wasn't horrible. This place is perfect walking distance to almost everything in town. Tip: Look for specials that pop...

Great place. Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms. Location is spot on. Only suggestion would be a cooked breakfast. If claiming to be a B&B, the second B (usually) means cooked. Well it does for nearly all other parts of the world. Croissants and fruit doesn't really cut it. Breakfast room tiny. All that said, very happy with the stay.

We just completed a 10-day swing in California and this was our nicest lodging. There were four adults in room #51, which is a spacious and lovely-appointed two-bedroom, two-bath suite with a full kitchen. It is not cheap ($900, tax included for two nights), but we all felt it was well worth the money. I don't think we could stay...

We stayed in the large 3 bedroom Stephensen House and it was just what we needed for our family. The house has everything you need and the location is great- a short walk to the main shops in Carmel and close to a lot of good restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay here. Unfortunately I cannot give 5 stars due...

Not a bad choice if you pay half of what we were taken for. Building(s) typical for Carmel but amenities just don't match the price. For $200 (weekdays) I expected better than a bagel and coffee for breakfast at a "Bed & Breakfast". We could hear neighbor coming up the stairs late at night and then her entire phone conversation...
