Very friendly reception. Porter was a bit obviously selling a story to ensure a tip, maybe tone that down a little you'll still get your tip :) continental breakfast delivered to the room was lovely. Nice clean rooms with wifi and loads of tv channels. All in all a nice place and staff that are very friendly and helpful.

We were on a five-day road trip from LA to SF and spent one night at The Carmel Lodge. It met all our expectations. Comfortable bed, convenient location walkable to downtown happening, free parking, breakfast delivered to our room the next morning, nothing special, but it took the edge off our morning hunger and all at a reasonable price. I...

We arrived in Carmel without reservations. I would not recommend this as we got lucky to find rooms. Room was a king upgraded room and very nice. Bed was comfortable and it was very clean. Room had a fridge and microwave and was very spacious. It was also very reasonably priced. Front desk check in was very friendly and she...

Nice enough, great location within walking distance of shops and beach with free parking which is huge plus in this town. Our room was spacious, a premium king corner unit with microwave and small fridge. I thought a fireplace would be nice - but it just had one of those smelly duraflame logs - so I wouldn't bother with that....

Check-in from the friendly staff was very easy. Old fashioned style keys were provided for a room on the second floor and they even offered a continental breakfast, which they personally delivered in the morning. The room was a bit small but it was clean. It also had a balcony so we could see the main street. Only wish it...

Staff was friendly when we arrived and made recommendations for dinner to a wonderful place. Finding parking in Carmel is difficult so it was nice to leave the car at the Lodge and walk everywhere. The facility is not new and showed some signs of wear. But the rooms were clean. Nice place to stay.

We really loved the ambiance of Carmel Lodge and the small room was cozy enough for the two of us. The bed was comfortable, the view was amazing and the restful time we spent was very refreshing for us.

We stayed for four nights and found the rooms comfortable and well-priced. The staff was very helpful and friendly--top marks. The building is unremarkable, with a bit of fraying at the edges. But the location is excellent. WiFi is mostly poor, and sometimes downright horrible. My only other actual complaint is the garbage trucks--which of course are not the hotel's...

Lovely warm welcome, friendly hostess and great central location. We stayed whilst on a road trip down the West Coast of California. 10 minute drive back to Monterey for a whale watching trip. Lots of restaurants in Carmel which were expensive and lots of quirky shops.
