My husband and I have stayed here a couple of times and have always enjoyed it. A few years ago we enjoyed it much more then recently, and I think it's because the rooms were quite new then. Now they are "tired" and look a bit abused (need new paint, floors, tile in the bathroom, etc.). I also notice that...

We arrived in Carmel not having booked accommodation and were very lucky to find a vacancy at Casa de Carmel. The room was clean and very comfortable , the complementary bottle of local wine was very much appreciated. Our two nights in Carmel were made special by the accommodation, we both would recommend staying to anyone preferring not to stay...

We are very happy with the accomodation, the staff and the location of this quaint facility. The cost was ideal for anyone on a budget and the off road parking outside allowed us to leave the car and explore Carmel.

The photos of this place made us look forward to staying. I must say here that I was hesitant because I'm not really a fan of 'quaint' (can mean eclectic or just plain weird according to the owners individual taste in decorating!), or 'Inns' (can be small and kind of friendly to the point of intrusive). Well, I was right...

Photos made it look very quaint and colorful. Not so. Bed was quite uncomfortable and floors were very dirty. Had to wear socks because there was so much dirt on the floor. Extremely noisy too. Could hear everything going on in the rooms next to us, above us and outside. One good thing...the coffee was great. But I wouldn't stay...

My wife and I used to live in Carmel-By-The-Sea and enjoy coming back several times a year. We especially like to bring our dog and enjoy the dog-friendly beach. Casa de Carmel fits our needs quite well and is pet friendly. We have stayed here several times over the years with our dogs. It is close to the beach and...

Love the convienent location as others have mentioned, but our room, number 3, was very small and the bathroom was a very tight squeeze with no counter space at all for toiletries. It was the least expensive room so I guess we got what we paid for, but the bathroom needs paint and the comforter on the bed needs to...

Wonderful location to the village with all it's cafes, shops, bars & galleries. Warm hospitality, very clean and tidy rooms with comfortable bed and nice extra touches in the room that were all complimentary, including breakfast basket to your room in the morning. Very reasonable rate. Pretty hard to fault, definitely recommend it.

When we first drove up our first reaction was "no, this is not the place that we want to stay" since this was clearly a 50's motel on a narrow lot with very limited parking, and the parking that was there requires considerable talent in backing up in order to get out. The room (unit 4, with a king size...

This hotel has lots of Carmel charm and the location is perfect. The upstairs rooms are quiet and the beds are very comfy. You'll get a knock at the door at 8:30 am and a basket is delivered with your breakfast - usually some pastry, hard boiled eggs, juice (coffee is in the room) and fruit. It's a nice start...
