Stayed one very pleasant night in the Devon Cottage. It was well-appointed, with fresh flowers on the table, a gas fireplace, books on the shelf, and fresh cookies. There was a tiny kitchenette with coffee and tea, and a cute bathroom with a nice, hot shower. The cottages are a block from the beach and a pleasant 20-minute walk to...

These tiny “Hansel and Gretel” cottages sit in the owner’s garden and are only one block from the beautiful beach. Gretchen and Doug are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is taken in their dining room and comprises a tasty hot option (pancakes, quiche etc) and fresh fruit. We stayed in Piccadilly, which had a separate pull...

We had a lovely stay at Edgemere Cottages. The cottage was homey and comfortable with a small but well appointed kitchenette. The neighborhood was quiet and the walk to the beach was about a block. Perfect location. Breakfast all three mornings was delicious and varied--fresh fruit every day, egg dishes and sweet bread (scone one day, muffin the next) or...

My wife and I spent the weekend here at the end of a trip to California. This B&B is quite lovely, in a quiet neighborhood several blocks away from the busy Ocean Avenue, and is just one short block away from the spectacular Carmel beach. The innkeepers were very friendly and accommodated our vegan diets. We had a small kitchenette...

This was our second stay at The Edgemere Cottages. It was as good as our last stay. I was worried because Gretchen, our hostess, was away. The fear was that her baking skills which are varied and great, would be missed at breakfast. Enter Doug, Gretchen's ruggedly handsome, Harley riding husband. Well he made the most amazing French toast that...

I luckily found Edgemere Cottages as I was planning a last minute trip to Carmel. This fairytale B&B only has a handful of rooms, and I was able to snag the last room available -- the patio room. While this is the only room attached to the main house, the private patio was adorable, and the room itself was perfect...

We stayed only one night at the Edgemere Cottages, and I sincerely wish we could have stayed longer. We stayed in the Devon cottage and it was so cute. A very cozy and inviting room with a comfy bed and lots of pillows, Tv (which we got a personal run-down of how to use), a little woodstove style fireplace, a...

What a truly pleasant surprise! Now I don't want to gush, because I want to be able to get a room the next time I'm in the Carmel area! But it's hard not to. A very homey place that still exudes Carmel charm, made even more homey by the friendly, helpful, easygoing, family-friendly hosts, Gretchen and Doug-- not to mention...

We are B&B owners ourselves and we recognize the earmarks of good place to stay. This B&B (cottages), gets high marks! The Picadilly Cottage that we stayed in was charming and just perfect for a stay at the beach. The beach - just a block away of course in Carmel is fabulous! Gretchen and Doug, out hosts, were bright, informative...

we stayed here last spring, it was our first time staying at a B&B, it was myself, my husband and our 9 month old daughter. We were more than happy with our experience and the staff was more than helpful with accommodating our little one :). The food was amazing, I'm still dreaming of the baked French toast. It was...
