The staff was rude and unattentive. The room was incovenient in every way. The card keys stopped working multiple times. Avoid at all costs, there are plenty of great options in Carmel, this is definitely not one. This is were I will stay if I die and go to hell LOL

From the personalized texts confirmations to the candy and wine reception to the fire pit and games and Comp breakfast and early check in if available this boutique hotel as it should be called is small and quaint yet perfect and updated . My kids aged 7 & 10 felt at ease and it was across the street from our fave restaurant/brewery. Perfect easy locale and the staff was friendly. The rooms were perfect, non smelly and renovated. Felt totally at ease here. Would totally come here again to visit quaint beautiful Carmel! Perfect weekend getaway!!

This old motel has been updated with beautiful, very comfortable rooms/bathrooms with lots of nice amenties. Great location at the top of Ocean Ave, close to shops and hundreds of great restaurants. Continental breakfast included. Can't wait to stay here again!

The staff was so friendly and amazing! I felt so safe and comfortable staying there. We enjoyed the breakfast delivered to our room and the bikes that were free to use. The room was cute and clean! I highly recommend The Getaway as your next stay!

The Getaway is a cute, recently renovated little no-frills hotel (Motel?) in Carmel. It has everything you need - parking, mint condition brand-new renovated rooms, fantastic bath products, a nice light complimentary breakfast, and a very awesome wine Happy Hour with complimentary wine every night - we met new friends to dine with every other night! The bed was comfy and the property was overall spotless. The only challenge we had was the fact there is no laundry service or facilities on property - would recommend that they have a third party do pickup laundry service like most other hotels. Overall, I recommend this place 10/10 - it is cute, the service is impeccable, it's completely nonpretentious, and it's literal minutes from hundreds of shops, galleries and oh, by the way, one of the nicest beaches in the US.…
