The area was fantastic...the accommodations were far from it. I will only post about the grounds and room. The poor customer service/management is a whole other story. Pulled up to our room and the grounds looked like they haven't been touched all year. This place needs an army of grounds keepers to make it look presentable (see photos). The buildings...

We stayed for 1 night at a great price of $100. Paying any more than that could be a disappointing experience. We have not stayed there since 2012 and noticed some small changes. Upon arrival, the office no longer offered little cellophane bags of toffee and bags of dog treats for your pet. There used to be DVDs and books...

A more affordable option that better reflects the valley and a more casual approach than in Camel itself. Great staff, wonderful breakfasts and rooms that vary, some more updated than others. The rooms can be spare but all had fireplaces in the rooms I stayed in and the suite (a generous upgrade in winter) was especially lovely. Covers the basics...

I'm undecided between 3 or 4 stars and once again wish it was possible to give 3 1/2. I would say that the lady that checked us in cost this place a full star. We walked in to the lobby- cozy place with coffee and some treats out for guests. Gave us a good feeling at first until we met...

We stayed in a 3 bedroom cottage in mid-October. The difficulty of making the reservation should have been a warning to us, but we still booked our room...and received a confirmation with our price. When we arrived, the rate was higher than was given on our confirmation, which I did not readily available. The cottage itself was average, but fit...

The first thing I noticed when we walked in the room was the cluster of cobwebs in the corner. It went downhill from there. We found spiders (alive) and webs all throughout the room. When we called the front desk to ask for something to get rid of them, no one answered. We tried to watch tv but the cable...

Attended for 2 nights on a business trip in September. Rooms need a little updating, but a good value considering they also provide wine tasting and snacks in the evening and a continental breakfast in the morning. No sign of the owner at breakfast when I was there.

and to make matters worse, the front office said WOW, that is probably smelly, but it is all we have. Fabreeze was how they answered the problem. Property overall is in very bad shape, poverty level.Breakfast was Cosco Junk.

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews. Honestly they almost scared us away from staying here. But we bit the bullet and stayed here on a weekend getaway. It turned out to be very nice, I think many other reviewers expect way too much. The location is an out-of-the-way small town (appropriately called Carmel Valley Village) about...

We arrived there around 9.15 pm and there was nobody to check in!!! There was a phone outside of the office with 2 different numbers to call but on both were only the answer machine!!! Nobody was reachable and we had to go and to find another hotel after 1 hour waiting and trying!
