The Homewood Suites by Hilton Cathedral City Palm Springs garners appreciation for its welcoming amenities, including the convivial happy hours, complimentary breakfast, and pet-friendly policy, though some guests miss having ice machines and hot tubs. While the hotel's cleanliness generally receives positive remarks, a few guests have raised concerns about the tidiness of the rooms. The value proposition is met with critique due to the smaller room sizes and unexpected odors. Although the staff's friendliness stands out, service inconsistencies and check-in delays are noted.
The location is frequently praised as safe and excellent for visitors. Seasonal decorations and soothing room colors add to the atmosphere, despite some negative feedback on the dated furniture and less-than-ideal room design. Room experiences are mixed, with complaints about noise and layout, yet some guests are pleased with the comfort and views offered.

Detailed Reviews
To the wonderful blessed staff who are not only ja e great hotel hospitality makers, they are compassionate, hardworking, attentive and knowledgeable in their job that creates a memorable hotel stay that over looks an amazing golf course and mountain range. I have personally interacted and conversed with Lili, Mark, Christina, Glen, Angel, Rose and the staff who cooks breakfast and Wednesday social hour. My family and I were displaced due to a accidental house fire and chose this location after our stay another amazing hospitality Hilton location of Homewood Suites in Palm Desert had ended due to winter prices. The staff have become like family and have made wonderful memories. They are delightful. They will attend to your request. They decorate for Halloween and Christmas and other events within the area. They are clean. The view is the best with lots of outdoor seating and a dog park for your furry family members with dog bags. Their social hour is welcoming with wine, beer, cheese and crackers, fruit to make evening relaxing. Their gym has a fair amount of choices and is temperature controlled. Laundry wash and dryer are free, just bring your own detergent. The pool is slightly heated (no jaccuzzi) with a gas fire pit near by for socializing. The color scheme of rooms are a good calming combination to enhance your stay from a long flight or drive. There is a parking fee of $10 that is an inconvenience if your stay is multiple days. I hope the company works to remove. I dont fancy the fees the city applies of 12%, 3.00% and .003%, 1.96% onto your stay anywhere within Palm Springs. Not the hotels fault, and doesnt deter my score. Enjoy everyone.

Hotel's Favourite
Enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite on the top floor. We received notice from our booking agency about the renovations. It was a minor inconvenience. Only noise was from a guest who was constantly slamming their door. Glen checked us in and was very friendly and informative. In fact, everyone one at this hotel were extremely friendly. We were always greeted with a smile and a question of how our day was going.
The suite was spacious and clean. We stayed a week so having a separate living and bedroom was perfect. The housekeeping every 4 days was no problem at all. Just ask and you'd receive trash removal and extra towels, etc.
The breakfast was typical of hotels in this hotel class. It was plentiful and changed daily. Being there for a week, there were repeats but it was to be expected. We had to get our food in one room and take it to another where the tables were. Not ideal but not a huge inconvenience. The hotel workers did their best working around the renovations.
If we need to stay in the area again, and we probably will, we would stay here with no hesitation.

I have stayed here before when it was under a different management company. Some of the staff remained after the change. All of the staff here a extremely friendly and helpful. I had booked a room well in advance, after 2 nights there were some things that didn't suit me about the room ( not the hotels fault-mine) so I inquired at the front desk if there was a possibility of changing rooms. After a very short time my request was met so I changed to a better room for my needs. The rooms are large and clean. The rooms I have stayed in have a kitchen, full fridge, stove top and microwave, also a dishwasher and plenty of dishes, cutlery, paper towel etc. There are 2 grills out by the pool area for use as well. Breakfast was good, I was there for 7 days and there was quite a variety of hot and cold items. It's hard to provide variety in buffet breakfasts but they do a very good job here. There is also a "managers" welcome each Wednesday night with complimentary wine and beer as well as some appetizers/small plates. The hotel was very busy so finding a place to sit at breakfast was a problem but you can always take your food back to your room. There is an outdoor pool but no hot tub, a decent gym, and complimentary laundry facilities (about 6 washers and dryers I think). The only downside I felt was the $10/night parking fee, there is really no other p lace to park, except very limited street parking several hundred yards away. You do require a car of other type of transportation if you're staying here as it is a bit out of the way for anything (except the adjacent golf course) like grocery stores, restaurants (this faculty does not have an on-site restaurant) etc. I have stayed here in the past and would certainly stay here again. Again a shout out to the very good staff component, from front desk to housekeeping to maintenance staff, all were very friendly and helpful.

I have only written maybe one or two reviews in my life but I think it's important to warn people about the dirtiness of the rooms if you're coming with pets or children.
We stayed in a "pet allowed" hotel room last week and our puppy went behind the chair and came back with a cigarette in his mouth. (We are not cigarette smokers btw) we tried to get as much out of his mouth as we could bc tobacco can be fatal for puppies. We called animal poison control and we were told we had to bring him to a hospital. We rushed him to a hospital and they had to induce vomiting. He is fine, thank god! However, we spent 95 dollars for poison control and 337 dollars at the hospital. We've emailed and called everyone we were told to contact and no response. We just want a reimbursement.
So if you have pets or children stay away bc they clearly don't clean their rooms very well and they have terrible customer service response time.

The view in back of the hotel is gorgeous. The pool is beautiful. However we (and about 8 other people) experienced terrible check in service. The main person at the desk would not get off the phone on, what sounded like, a non urgent call. This went on for over 10 minutes as the line grew longer. Another staff member eventually came out but she had a non helpful attitude and it took her another 5 minutes to finally check people in. Between this and the bad room design, we moved hotels after one night. The room was small with no kitchen table and the sofa was love seat size barely fitting 2 people. I could hardly walk around the bed because the dresser was too bulky. If the safe was open (located in the closet) you could not close the closet door. There were no ice machines in the hotel. They referred us to the room refrigerator ice maker which only made 10 cubes in 1-2 hours. Never again. I’m disappointed in you Homewood Suites.

We finally arrived at the Hilton Homewood Suites in Cathedral City about 10pm after traveling into Palm Springs from Oregon. The hotel had an 8.8/10 “Excellent” rating through the site we booked.
When we were checking in at the front desk, the hotel staff were extremely kind as they fielded multiple noise complaints while we were waiting for them to find us a room. This raised our eyebrows but we stayed the course.
The front desk told us they had overbooked the hotel for the night but luckily there was a first floor room still open for us. We checked into the room and it smelled awful, like dog urine. We reluctantly headed back to the desk to ask for a different room knowing they were pretty short. They moved us into a second room on the first floor and it didn’t smell like urine but was musty and dank, with a whistling motor on the A/c fan unit, and we could hear our neighbors tv blaring through the walls. The bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way and there were patches of paint crumbling off the bathroom wall. Being now close to 11 we decided to settle for it for the night, only to be awakened at 630 by upstairs neighbors clomping around on this Sunday morning.
We looked at options first thing in the morning and decided to book an Airbnb as this hotel is absolutely dismal and there’s no way I’m staying in what feels like a basement college apartment longer than I have to.
I’ve stayed in a Homewood suites before that was pleasant, in Tucson, but after this, I may never stay in a Hilton again.
We left after about 8 hours into a 3 night reservation. The front desk said they couldn’t offer any refund because it was booked through a third party, so they charged us for parking overnight (thanks) and checked us out. Again, hotel staff were friendly in all cases, they just couldn’t do the reasonable thing considering their policy/management. The reviews of this Hilton hotel do not in any way reflect its current state, at least in the section of the hotel we were assigned (rooms 108 and 112). What a dump. I was completely duped and surprised after reading the description and reviews online.
This feels like complete dishonesty.

My family just concluded a three day stay here over Thanksgiving. We had two, two bedroom rooms in order to accomodate five adults and two children. The property is currently undergoing a first floor remodel, to what extent, we were not aware of prior to our arrival.
The majority of the first floor common area was unaccessible, including one of the two elevators, entire meal service area and bathrooms. One of the luggage carts had a broken wheel on it, but was still in use with a "warning sign". The breakfast had to be served in two separate meeting rooms, one to get your food and one to eat it in. Unfortunately, there appeared to be little effort to enhance or vary what was served.
This property is showing signs of wear, both inside and out. It is only six years old and was originally built as a property of another hotel chain. It certainly is not in the condition of a "resort" although they continue to charge a $10 daily parking fee. THAT is a slap in the face to a guest, considering they are in the middle of a residential area, with no retail or restaurants nearby!
Overall, we were extremely disappointed in this property.

Arrived to find the hotel was under construction and wasn’t notified by booking.com beforehand.
The hotel other than that seems decent but the internal noise from the other guests makes this hotel a no go for future stays.
We were on the third floor and were kept awake by the room next door with young children the awakened by the person in the room above banging around at 04:00 AM .
The walls are paper thin to the point you can hear people talking, taking showers and the air conditioning sounds like a plane setting off outside your window.
I realise that it’s a hotel and to expect some noise but this is on another level.
Our room was also located by a cleaning cupboard where the cleaners seem to congregate for a chat and we could hear everything.
we have travelled all over the US and have had quieter stays in roadside motels.
The hotel also charges a $10 parking fee.

This hotel is a decent / basic Homewood Suites, but don’t expect to receive any housekeeping services, even though there is a sticker advertising “Housekeeping By Request” on the bathroom mirror. We called the Front Desk on the second day asking for housekeeping to make the beds, take out the trash, and provide new towels, however that request was refused. Also, they charge $10 per night for parking, which is basically a junk fee considering that they are nowhere near the downtown area.

Overall it was a good stay. Friendly staff, rooms were clean. We stayed in a King Studio Suite Mountain View, and for a suite it was fairly small and cramped. To get to the far size of the bed you have to squeeze through a gap between the bed and the dresser which is only about 8 inches. And the bathroom/closet area is cramped and doesn’t have great functionality for 2 or more people.
Another oddity of this property is no ice machines. The fridges in the rooms have ice makers, but extremely slow. If you want more than 2 cold beverages a day, it won’t be enough, as the ice machine makes a handful of ice a day. We were told very clearly by the front desk that there are no ice machines, just the ice maker in the room. We ended up going to a local store and buying ice.
Overall it was decent value for the price. But next time I would try somewhere else.
And have an ice machine your guests can use if they need more than a handful of ice. This is the desert, cold drinks are part of it.

Homewood Suites by Hilton...great place to stay in Palm Springs, but you"ll need a car because theres nothing close by within walking distance....Except Golf!
If you mean next to the pool, there was no sign of that. Don't think any of the rooms would have one.
No, only our 1 bedroom suites have sofa beds.
