Stayed here a couple nights in order to hike the best of Mt Lassen trails, and found it a great choice for clean, comfortable room, close proximity to restaurants, and reasonable driving distance to the Park.

I hike with a group, the Hangtown Hikers. We have done week hikes in many spectacular areas: Yosemite, Sequoia, Tamales Bay, the coastal redwoods, Joshua Trees... Nowhere have I had such helpful service from a motel. Antlers Motel in Chester is family run, and they create a family feeling. I met other travelers there who said the same. The family... More

Check-in was pleasant. Our request for a second story room away from the main road and foot traffic was met. We stayed three nights in room 210, the last room on the second floor away from the stairs. We were in Chester because we were visiting Lassen Volcanic National Park. Chester is about an hour's drive from the park. This... More

We stayed here (a group of 4 friends) for a weekend trip to Lassen Volcanic National Park. The moment we arrived, the owner (I assume) was incredibly friendly and helpful, and gave us an overview of local businesses and recommendations that turned out to be spot on. In the room itself, the ceiling was a little thin as we were... More

This place is a real gem. Room was spacious, beds comfortable, and it was really clean. The owner works there and checked me in personnaly and he is proud of his establishment. This is politically correct and no reflection of the owner at,all, but it has to be one of the last properties not owned by someone from the middle... More

We were undecided if to stay at a chain-hotel or at the 'Antler'. Decided, we give it a try, since we prefer supporting local business. The staff and rooms did not disappoint us. Spacious, very clean rooms. The size a little bigger than a double Queen usually is. An oversized bathroom and His and Hers sinks made getting ready in... More

Great little motel. It's very basic, but our king room was spacious and clean. The fridge actually worked, unlike most motels where they barely get cold. Full size coffee maker, but no microwave. There is a community microwave available. We'd stay here again.

We spent one night in Antlers Motel, while visiting Lassen NP. The motel has good location in the center of Chester, walking distance to stores, cafes and restaurants. The room was spacious, nicely organized and looked clean. I subtracted half point for the bed, which was comfortable on one side, but with noisy sheets, which were loud every time we... More

We overnighted here during our two day visit to Lassen Volcanic and were generally very pleased. The room and bathroom were both very spacious. The bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed our stay. There aren't a lot of places to eat nearby, but for a one or two night stay you can make do. My only two complaints are as... More
