Zamaca' is located on the East Coast in a gated scenic development. Each elegantly furnished bedroom has a private bathroom. We also offer well appointed facilities for conferences and seminars. We are near one of the two international airports, and within driving distance of all the Island attractions, which include unique nature reserves as well as night life. The balconies and a large communal veranda face the lush valley and the secluded accessible private beach.

Zamaca is a real gem. It’s a little hard to find, but well worth it. The view over the valley and the sea is breathtaking. Ellen and John are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. They went beyond normal helpfulness to us, providing the kind of attention that you don’t usually find in any accommodation. You’ll love them.

Ellen is a fabulous cook, and for a very reasonable fee she will cook a delicious 3 course dinner for you. Don’t miss it! Breakfast is served on the patio. Gorgeous view. Ask Ellen to make you her frittata, it’s memorable.

Zamaca is an easy 10 miles from the airport, so it’s very convenient just before or just after your flight. It’s very reasonably priced. You won’t be disappointed.

We just happened by chance to come across Zamaca Bed and Breakfast when our flight got canceled and we needed a place to stay. The property was actually closed at the time due to the owners leaving on vacation, but after telling them our situation they graciously allowed us to stay the night.
We showed up late in the night, but were welcomed with such kindness and amazing hospitality. Ellen and John made sure we were welcomed and that we had everything we needed for the night.
Upon arriving, we did not know the house didn't have AC, which seemed way more daunting at first, but in reality wasn't so bad. The house and all the rooms are very spacious with lots of windows with screens. There are high ceilings and lots of balconies. There really is a great breeze that runs through the entire house.
Waking up in the morning we could finally take in the SPECTACULAR views of the ocean and the banana plantation. There is such a sense of tranquility and peacefulness while being at this property. I woke up to the sounds of waves, birds chirping, and a cow mooing!
Ellen presented us with the most amazing breakfast, even though she admitted they didn't have much since they were closed... But she pulled off an outstanding breakfast either way!
We are SO grateful that Ellen and John opened their home to us at the last minute. It truly was a wonderful and unexpected ending to our vacation. I would go back there in a heartbeat when visiting St. Lucia.

I started this review in my head so many times, and the reason is because I absolutely loved Ellen & John's home.

The moment we arrived, we felt at home. Elle greeted us with a big smile and so much warmth. She asked us to sit and have a drink, to enjoy the sunset and the stunning view.

John appeared in that moment and he, too, greeted us with the biggest smile.

Once we finished our drinks, we were shown our room. The room was exquisitely decorated, comfortable bed and had also a big bathroom.

The moment we stepped into our room it was hard not to go outside in the balcony and enjoy the breeze. After a week of air-conditioning, the feeling of a fresh breeze was needed.

Ellen and John are the perfect hosts. You can have it both ways, if you want your privacy, you'll be left to it. If you would like to socialise with them and others guests, you will absolutely be able to do that too.
Over the 4 nights, we got to know Ellen and John, as well as their other guests. We shared a drink or two and it felt like family.
This couple will make your stay memorable as they will do everything they can to make you feel at home and happy.

Now, I'm leaving the best for last. Ellen's cooking.
We had good, bad and terrible experiences during our holiday when it comes to food. Ellen's food made up for all of it as we had the best meals of our holiday. Breakfast, delicious. Dinner, absolutely perfection.

What more can we say? Thank you so much for having us, Ellen and John. We absolutely loved your company and home.

What an amazing villa, place and people!
We had an absolutely wonderful time staying with Ayllene and her family. Our room was spacious and accommodating with beautiful views of the bay. The family were full of great advice with things to see and do around beautiful St Lucia, and the breakfasts were out of this world!!!
Thank you wholeheartedly for making our stay so special, we won't forget our time with you. Anne and Alex

St Lucia Delight

We stayed for a week at the Zamaca guest house during May 2012; and what a marvellous week we had at Zamaca.

The guest house is very clean & all rooms are ensuite with a fantastic view, you also have the option of having evening meals cooked by Ellen the owner who is also a fantastic cook who produced marvellous delicious meals for us in a St Lucian/North American/Italian style.

Zamaca is located in Micoud not far from the international airport but away from the touristy areas so we hired a 4x4 jeep to visit other areas of the island we also used Melvin the local taxi driver who is a nice reliable guy.

John & Ellen the owners of Zamaca are a uniquely special couple who go out of there way to make your holiday perfect, Ellen is a fantastic cook while John is a great host.

St Lucia was made just delightful by John & Ellen during our stay at Zamaca.

We Loved Zamaca.

After a couple of weeks in the Caribbean, we were looking for a great place to spend our final 2 days. We had originally not planned to stay on the Atlantic coast but were looking for a beautiful location without franchises and herds of tourists. We discovered Zamaca on Trip Advisor and kept our fingers crossed as we drove across the island. When we were greeted by Ellen, we knew we had come to the right place to end our vacation with a bang. She is bursting with energy, warmth and enthusiasm. Then we were greeted cheerfully by John, her fascinating husband, who was happy to share his world of experience and knowledge with us. Everything about the place was outstanding. We had a great room with a million dollar view of the palm-lined pristine beach and the emerald hills. A cooling breeze made air-conditioning unnecessary and insured an insect-free experience. Like its owners, Zamaca was endlessly fascinating. Although we ate in many good restaurants during our trip, Ellen took the prize. Her food was absolutely fabulous, made with creativity and love. She even made fresh tamarind ice cream for us and brought us a tamarind pod to show us where the key ingredient came from. Our dinners on both nights included at least 3 courses that were as distinctive as they were delicious. On our last night Ellen and John played dominoes with us, which was really entertaining. We were very sorry to leave but couldn't have had a better final act to our trip.

Zamaca is a brilliant B+B - John and Ellen are the best B+B hosts we've ever met - incredibly helpful and with such knowledge of the island and surrounding areas. Food was excellent (we had a different breakfast each morning - with chocolate muffins made especially for my fiance one morning) - and if you stay, you'll be missing out if you do not have dinner here (ask for pumpkin soup - sounds bit dull but tastes like heaven on a spoon). DO USE MELVIN as your taxi/tour guide - he is also excellent. Although you may want to watch the 10am trip to the rum factory...!

The location is excellent for the south of the island - beautiful beach (sandy beach) and easy access to the Pitons (go for the climb - hard work but well worth it and the guides are v attentive and all felt v safe) and Soufriee (mud bath is a must, though possibly avoid if you've got bad sunburn..ouch!) - the only thing location wise however is that whilst the east / south coasts are stunning and there is lots to do, if you fancy doing catamaran / deep sea fishing it is a bit of a trek up to the touristy bits.....when we go again (and we will) I think we'd do 4/5 nights at Zamaca and then head north for the remainder of the time. But do stay here - it is beautiful and incredible value for money!

Exceptional value bed and breakfast just off the main road a short ride from Vieux Fort and UVF. Bedrooms open to huge balconies with a beautiful view of Fond Bay. The homeowners are wonderful, and can
help you plan your stay or prepare an authentic and delicious St Lucian dinner. The location is not near Castries or the tourist areas like Rodney Bay, so book here if you want to get away from the tourist traps! Perfect for travelers renting their own car and wanting to experience the "real" St Lucia. Perhaps an hour from the popular north side of the island, 20 minutes from UVF, and much more convenient than Castries to the Pitons, volcano, and other natural wonders of St Lucia. The included breakfast is excellent, and variety of five-course dinner selections at exceptional prices (most under $20US). Prepare to relax or explore with this lovely bed and breakfast as your home base!

Zamaca is a great place to stay. Ellen and John made our holiday in St. Lucia unforgetable. Ellen is a very good cooker. The breakfast was delicious. We also had a dinner one time there and it was very good. The best beach in St. Lucia is only 15 minutes car drive away from Zamaca. Micoud is not a touristic area, so you can see how the locals live.

Our group of 5 adults stayed at Zamaca in March/12 for 2 nights after spending a week at Windjammer Landing. We needed a place close to the airport as we had an early morning flight. Zamaca was our first experience at a B&B and they have certainly set a high standard for future B&B visits. Ellen & John were very friendly and welcomed us as though we were family. One of our rooms had a balcony with a beautiful view of the bay. Both rooms were spacious, comfortable and spotless. Breakfast was tasty and served on the veranda. Ellen made a special vegetarian frittata for me when she learned I didn't eat bacon or ham. Ellen also agreed to prepare a typical St. Lucian dinner one evening for all the guests at a reasonable $23/person. The food was delicious and plentiful. Melvin, a local taxi driver, was requested to transport us to the beach and restaurant. He is a true gentleman. Zamaca is a wonderful option if you need accommodation near UVF but it would also be great for longer stays if you are travelling on a budget. The location provides easy access to tour the many beautiful sites in the southern part of St. Lucia. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Zamaca.

The closest airport for arrival and departure is the Hewanorra (pron: Heh-wah-norah) international airport (code UVF), a whopping seventeen minutes by car on the main road to/from Zamaca'. Best means of transportation: taxi, we can arrange the pickup and drop off for you, roughly US$ 20/25 each way. Let us know when you book if late arrival... we'd like to wait for you Rate for all guestrooms is US$ 114 with VAT and service charge and breakfast, each with queen size bed and some with ocean view for the early callers, 2 adults, cot for a kid. Dinner and menu upon request - see reviews! Ciao!
