Beautiful location, fantastic day white water rafting with an excellent lunch. Very knowledgeable guide with loads of experience and good stories to relate. Really good fun. Would definitely recommend.

American River Resort is a springboard for Gold Country fun, close-by are Apple Hill ranches, gold panning and historic Gold Rush State Park, fishing and family affordable white water rafting and much much more!!! The resort has a variety of trees and the grounds are well-kept. Each campsite is spacious and has a fire pit and many have a view...

Do your self a favor and take your money to a good camp site like Rivers Bend or Camp Lotus. Camp sites at American river aresort are tiny, showers are even smaller. That's not what ruined my camping experience with them. I went to camp there for a rafting trip, I own my own boat so we just needed a...

This is in a beautiful setting with lots of trees and the River rushing past. Some of the sites are a challenge to get into for bigger rigs and some trees really need trimming. But they have full hookups at most sites and our 40 footer with toad fit fine.

My family with school age kids stayed here in our pop-up for labor day weekend - 3 nights and had a great time. The camp ground is no frills, with sites pretty close together, but it's really focused around the river. The bathrooms were very clean and yeah, a little walk from your site, but whatever. It's worth it for...

All the beds, the couch, and shower were great. The wicker chairs are very uncomfortable. You couldn't really see the river from our porch. We highly recommend American Whitewater Expeditions if you're thinking of doing any rafting trips! It was the funnest thing to do ever! Go A.W.E.!! Jennifer was the only helpful staff, she offered to print out directions...

This was probably a nice family resort about 40 years ago and doesn't look like it has been maintained since. What staff are available during limited office hours are down right rude. RV power/water hookups were OK on sloping dirt sites. Access roads are narrow and poorly maintained. Showers are literally rotting into the ground. Pool looked clean, but who...

Background: Our daughter is a rafting guide with American Whitewater Expeditions on the American River in Coloma, CA. Being from Vermont, we took a detour from my wife's conference in Monterey to visit our daughter. We were lucky to book a waterfront cabin, right on the American River in Gold Rush Country! Verdict: While the bed and sofa bed are...

American River Resort is the best campground in the area! The sites are a little close together, so if you are looking for privacy, this is not the place for you. We were across from some loud party people. They were playing music early in the morning and late at night. The last night we were there, the people that...
