We stayed here for labour day weekend. We book an RV site and a cabin for friends. Wer where so impressed with both. We thought it was great value for the money we paid. Not only did we have a nice site there was numerous free activities for the kids. Archery, rock wall, Segway’s, art and crafts, to name a few. The activities pool and lake are a bit away from the sites but are kids had fun climbing into the back of the truck for the short trip down. Seemed to be the in thing to do. The staff all seemed lovely, they seemed real happy to be there and really wanted to help. We r looking forward to going back next time it will be longer.

Beautiful surroundings, a lovely lake and wonderful pool made for an ideal family vacation for my husband, myself, our daughter and her family of two young children. Our cabin, Willow, was much better than expected and reasonably priced. It was extremely clean, had a full kitchen, and comfy beds. This place is quiet and idyllic on weekdays and crazy crowded on weekends with nonstop RVs pouring in. We went Tuesday through Saturday, which was ideal. It is isolated (no stores or restaurants nearby) which means it's a great place to get away from it all I liked that the lake has no motorboats. We plan on returning next year, because the kids loved it.

Lake Francis is one of the cleanest campgrounds I have ever been to. There was lots to do, we rented kayaks and swam in the pool. The kids enjoyed the fishing and we ended the day with ice cream. We will definitely be back

We spent 3 nights in our trailer at Lake Francis! Site B-8.

The pros: hardly anyone around us on a weekday. Fairly easy pull thru site. Full hookups. Clean! Friendly gal at check in. Cool rope swing at lake! Easy drive...no crazy turns on the road in.

Cons: tiniest site. Could barely put out our chairs and when someone DID pull in next to us on the last night, they were practically touching our slide-out with theirs. Can't walk to Lake area (drive or its a steep trek back with all your beach things). No fire pits in our area and little any shade in the "full hook up spots".

We will be back ... However I already scoped out a site in the trees with more shade and more room to spread out.

Don't even think about it. I reserved 4 spaces for a group in June. I was disappointed to find that the pool was quite a hike from the campgrounds. The lake was muddy, not something I would want to swim in or use, and smelled. the up side is that the restrooms were convienient to our sites and the laudry was right there too. But thats all the upside I can say. We like the use of a pool where ever we stop, and this place has a decent pool area, but heres the problem, it was invaded by lowlifes who wouldn't control their children and a staff that would not do anything about it. Here is what I mean, weekend comes and here comes the local lowlifes from the surrounding area, drugs alcohol in use, and filthy language at the pool with children all over. The kids and even the parents were lining up in 5s and doing running jumps into the pool.
splashing people in the pool with NO consideration for others who want to just float and relax. also the pool rules say no dogs in the pool area. And there were two of them there.
So after waiting to use the pool hopeing these degenerates would leave, they didn't so I called the office and said there are people jumping and splashing in the pool, is that allowed? and shes says no I will send someone down. So I waited and no one that I saw came. Then I go down to the office in person and tell them that no one came, and she says I came down and stood by the fence for at least 5 minutes and no one jumped in the pool. I said you have got to be kidding they are jumping in in groups of 5, so she said I will come down again, so I see her come down again and she obviously sees me and kids and parents jumping in, so after telling me theres no jumping into the pool she says well they can jump in the pool they just cant dive into the pool. Im like what you said they can't jump. So I told her what about the pets in the pool area she didn't even bother saying or doing a thing about that either. Also this same person was in the office and I went in to buy ice cream so I pick out an ice cream and the sign says 1.50 go up to pay and she says that will be 2 dollars I say the sign says 1.50 she says thank you for letting me know that its 2.00. Now if a price changes but you leave the sign up that shows the old price, the right thing to do is sell that Item for the old price and then change the sign. But not this moron who doesn't know how to offer good customer service. And lastely we went to the restaurant there in the center where the office is. Another big mistake, it was expensive and lousy. They offered a salad bar from hell, I got a muffin that was like a glue ball, and the fish had to be frozen from a box and it was 15.00. Unless you want to hang out with the other lowlifes, great. But if your a decent person who wants to be treated well and be in the company of other nice decent people stay away go somewhere else. They obviously cater to trash because thats all that will go there.

This last trip to lake Francis is our fourth trip to the resort. My wife and I had site B5 and our adult children had two tent sites l14 and l16, it was a busy weekend and you expect a little noise however there was a group of rowdy young men and women partying drinking shots and being very loud all night long. My question is where is their security? My son in law went to the office on Saturday to complain he was told there would be someone checking things that night, this did not happen! Poor management!!!! In the tent area around L14 and L16 expect other campers to walk right through your campsite to get to the restrooms. Not a happy camper.

Appalled this camp is affiliated with any Christian association. The cabin we rented last Friday evening was disgusting. We had a hard time finding it as we arrived after sunset around 7:30pm. There were about 3 RVs and rents close to our cabin and they took up all the parking. We parked on a hill behind cabin. Hauled our stuff in front of the door. Opened it to find rat feces all over the beds and floors. Garbage all over. Including a dirty bra and underwear. Spiderwebs arachnophobia style. I left a message with the office and we packed up and started to drive out when a guy with a English accent on a golf cart said to follow him. He was irritated from the first interaction. He took us to 6 cabins before he found a semi decent one. He said because of the fires they hadn't cleaned. After taking us to a very small cabin that had spiderwebs and garbage again under the beds I politely told him we just want to go home. We worked all day and didn't want to stay in a small hot dirty cabin and have to clean it now too. We had our little dog and our daughter with us too. He then treated us so horrible. He kept repeating "are you kidding me you guys better stay at the Ritz or the West. This is a bare rusty cabin". With all do respect it's that much easier to clean. And I'm not paying over $100 a night to stay in a dirty rat infested small hot cabin! Incredibly rude. And we were being nice! I didn't even say this to the man. We stood there in shock at how someone who represents a place of business would be so rude especially in a situation where this is a HEALTH RISK! To ourselves and our dog! Learn some manners and grow up! Unprofessional and uncalled for. They did refund our money with no problems. But no response to my email regarding this sad situation. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO CAMP!

We camped July 2017. The check in was smooth and the lady at check in was friendly. We were there during the weekday and all things were closed. The registration and little store is only open 9-5 and all other things were closed. They make you (or tell you to) wear wrist bands to keep the "riff raff" out but they don't actually have anyone enforcing it.

The pool is nothing more than a public type pool. The playground has probably not been updated since ?? (metal and hot 1980's type). The pool and park are away from the lake and rv sites. They are within walking distance but not within ear or eyes for kids old enough for that.

The camp sites are surrounded by nice tall trees and although sites are paved they are surrounded by red dirt (baseball/softball type). Not all spaces have fire rings and if you don't bring one, you rent for $3/night. For those who care, there is cell service but no wifi.

The roads are steep all around. I don't recommend bikes for little ones and if you have any type of injury or trouble walking, getting to the lake will not be easy for you. A lot of the roads are narrow and have sharp turns for trailers. I recommend a pull through or check the map out for direction especially with larger trailers.

The lake area is calm (no motor boats) this was kinda nice. The lake area with picnic tables also seemed run down (older). There is a ton of poison oak around. If you stay on the paths you will be fine though.

The area was quiet which could be nice for some. It seemed desolate to me as I am used to busier and livelier places on all days during the summer.

I was told by my husband and step-daughter that the bathrooms are cleaner than a lot of places.

It's hard to tell if the owners of this resort are trying to attract a more rustic camper or an RV'er like us. It was kind of in between.

This place has a lot of potential to be a really cute spot. It was just missing something for our family.

We took our travel trailer (and 3 kids) here for the weekend before 4th of July. We really loved it, stayed in c3 and thought it was plenty of room and not right on top of neighbors at all (though some of the interior B sites were a different story). There were really nice trees that shaded a lot of the park, bathrooms were very clean, staff was friendly and registration was simple. The lake is beautiful and there are no motor boats so it's nice and peaceful to paddleboard and kayak. The beaches do get really crowded so arrive before 10 and you should get a nice spot.
The playground is quite old, but otherwise the amenities are nice. Only downfall is they are quite far from the campsites and for our family of three with a little one, not really in walking distance from our site as the path is steep and wooded.
One word of caution- this is definitely a younger, family crowd. Lots of kids and "kid noise" everywhere so if you're a couple without kids, I'd hesitate on coming here. We loved it though!

My husband and I took our two boys ages 14 and 11 here for a quick get away. We loved it and everything was great!! No complaints;) we know have made this place our family vacation for years to come.
Tip: the restaurant is only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday's. The staff were helpful and kind. NOT a place for rowdy people. Definitely quality family environment and precious memories;) Thank you😘
